Pours a dark black (really dark for a porter) and shows a little light around the edges. The head is medium, tan, creamy. The aroma shows roasted coffee and chocolate immediately, sweet, light alcohol. Malt predominant. The hops don’t show until you taste it and then only barely. Tastes sweet, some molasses/brown sugar, roasted chocolate and coffee again, light light alcohol, some mild hop bitterness at the back of the mouth. Smooth roasted palate that finishes nicely. Excellent porter. aubreya (676), Chapel Hill, North Carolina, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 16, 2007 The color was a deep chocolate brown. The head was creamy, light beige, and laced a little. The aroma was alcohol, roasty, coffee, very malty, and some chocolate. The appearance and aroma reminded me of a stout. The flavor was sweet, coffee, and roast. There was a dry waxyness at the back of the mouth. The palate was smooth and slightly carbonated. The finish was warm and roasty. Jmichael (633), Asheville, North Carolina, USA

Aroma was a little nutty and with subtle coffee notes as well. Tasted quite indulgent with nutty flavours, complimented by a lovely rich smoothness, quite filling and done very well. cbeers21 (564), Miami, Florida, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 7, 2007 Opaque black with nice brown head. Toasted chocolate, rubber aromas persist as well as delicious roasted coffee scents. A lighter hoppier porter than expected, with touches of drying hops and floral, piney flavors. A very well balanced brew with several complex layers. Worth a try. beerbuzzmontreal (2911), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 6, 2007 Pours a deep black color with brown highlights and a thick, frothy, beige head. Very good aroma and flavor of coacoa, toasted bread and roasted malt with a bitter finish. The body is light with a slightly liquorous texture and gentle carbonation. Porter might not be one of the most exciting styles for me, but when it’s well done like this one it’s always a pleasure to drink. patrick767 (2019), fort wayne, Indiana, USA

The flavor has elements of chocolate and coffee vying with the dark roast malt. Creamy, full bodied, and smooth, there’s a touch of bitterness in the finish. This is an excellent porter. thanks to bdigi66 for sharing this gem.
