DBF 2005, cask. Black, thin beige head and gentle fine condition. Pleasant sweet coffee and burnt roast barley aromas, full bodied in the mouth with a creamy sweetness and gentle bitter coffee notes, lingering chalky roasted finish with a little sweetness and a restrained bitterness.

Bottle Purchased at Holiday Wine Cellar in Escondido, CA. Shared with friends. Pours black with a 1 finger tan head. The nose is very very malty with a coffee tinge. Taste is sweet and full of coffee and a bit of chocolate. Pretty damn tasty porter.

In the bottle. Black with a dark brownish beige head that thins to a fine covering atop the beer. Milk chocolate and mild coffee, chicory and licorice aroma. Body is thin and a bit watery for the big aroma. Roasted malt and a mild splash of coffee flavor tossed in. This is a good porter, but not quite up to the high ratings it is getting here.

Biggish brown head. Nearly opaque dark brown body. Roasty coffeeish aroma with hoppy oily rye notes. Dry-sweetish taste, with an acidic edge, of burnt sooty rye with vaguely citric hop notes. Very harmonic and balanced. Full-bodied. Soft mouthfeel. Dry delicate burnt aftertaste with grainy chocolatey notes. Burnt notes linger. Very, very good and highly drinkable. Grew on me as I drank. (0.5l bottle, Wine monopoly, Oslo.)

Nøgne Ø has made the best porter I have tried in a long time. Black in color. Aroma is full of roasted malt. Flavor is full with light chocolate and coffee and more malt. Many breweries would call this their stout.

Very dark brown, almost black with a rich dense light brown head. Roasted coffee, dark chocolate, hops, smoke and dried plums in aroma. Flavour of coffee, minerals and smoke with small notes of tar, hops and salt. Powerfull finish of black coffee, smoke, dark plums and peppry alcohol.

Bottle. Nearly a black pour wtih a nice beige head. Coffee, milk chocolate, roast and some very dark dried fruits. Flavor is toasty and has a good chocolate backbone. Fruity also. Nice beer.
