Aroma is full of roasted malt. Flavor is full with light chocolate and coffee and more malt. Many breweries would call this their stout. BMan1113VR (2958), Los Angeles (and Dallas), Texas, USA

Chocolate/roast flavor with no hrashness and backing hops. Lingering sweet chocolate malt. Medium body. Like most of their beers I’ve tried, it’s well balanced. beerbuzzmontreal (2931), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Sep 6, 2007 Pours a deep black color with brown highlights and a thick, frothy, beige head. Very good aroma and flavor of coacoa, toasted bread and roasted malt with a bitter finish. The body is light with a slightly liquorous texture and gentle carbonation. Porter might not be one of the most exciting styles for me, but when it’s well done like this one it’s always a pleasure to drink. skortila (2914), Bunnik, Netherlands

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 8, 2008 Sample at the Hopsnobbery Collective Porter tasting on 12/4/08: This brew is a solid brownish-black color with a medium thin and rocky light brown head that dissipates steadily. Stringy lacing on the glass. Aroma of smoked malt and dark chocolate plus a touch of coffee. Medium, round body with flavors of roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate and raisins. Light smoky character throughout. The finish is soft and roasty with a mocha aftertaste. Pretty good all around. Glouglouburp (2881), Montreal, Quebec, Canada
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 13/20 | Mar 19, 2007 Black body topped by a long-lasting medium tan head. Dark cookie malts, dates and some black liquorice are the main flavours. Far from an intense beer it is rather soft overall. The body is somewhat creamy although the mouthfeel is surprisingly pretty dry. Gentle medium carbonation. Nice by-the-number porter that only stands out because of a dryer than average mouthfeel. Very little hops presence. The only thing that may leave a bitter after-taste here is paying the high price-tag.
