Dec 17, 2007 Pours totally cloudy black with lacing, nice looks. Sublime nose of well-constructed sweet malts and baked dried fruits. Some alcohol detectable and adds warmth. Super mouthfeel. Tastes a lot like an imperial stout and is quite roasty.

Jun 8, 2006 50 cl bottle. Black colour with a nice head. Very little aroma of roastedness but in a smooth way. Also smooth flavour of roastedness and sweetness. Overall very smooth but with a very light bitter and watery finish.

Nov 27, 2009 Draught at Capone’s: Aroma of chocolate, malts, and caramel. Poured pitch black in color with a large, creamy, dense, rocky, brown head that lasted throughout. Great looking head. Opaque. Excellent lacing. Flavor is medium sweet and slightly bitter. tastes of chocolate, roasted malt, light caramel, and light maple syrup. Medium body. Dry texture. Soft carbonation. Roasted malt and chocolate finish is dry. A very nice porter.

Mar 16, 2007 Dark brown, nearly opaque, with a large, foamy tan head that shrinks to a small lace rather quickly - quite a bitter, dark roast coffee aroma, with notes of leather and tobacco, and background chocolate malt - creamy mouthfeel, with far less carbonation than the head suggests - leather and wood notes, dried cherries, quite an herbal hoppiness, and an undercurrent of sweet cream and espresso - some bright, berry-like fruitiness on the back end - a solid porter, but not one for the ages.

Jan 9, 2008 The aroma has chocolate, toasted malt, and milk. The appearance is dark brown with a tan head. The flavor is like the aroma. The palate is smooth. Overall it’s pretty good.

Nov 8, 2004 Pitch black with a foamy brown head. Full aroma with plenty of coffee, bitter chocolate, roast and hops. Coffee in the flavor as well along with roasted malt, liquorice and some bitter hops. Foamy mouthfull. An excellent porter!

Sep 2, 2007 (Bottle, Haket, Gothenburg, 1 Aug 2007) Black colour with frothy brown head. Roasted, malty nose with notes of chocolate, cocoa and loads of liquorice. Roasted taste with chocolate, coffee and liquorice. Balanced sweetness, chewy solid mouthfeel. Brilliiant porter.

Jun 8, 2008 Dark brown body with light ruby highlights, and a large creamy tan head. Chocolate and roasted malt aroma with some caramel hints. Big roasted malt flavor with chocolate notes and more faint caramel and light molassas and a reasonable bitter finish. Medium body with moderate carbonation and a smooth chocolately finish.
