Jun 24, 2008 Pretty nice porter. Molasses, very slight cocoa powder. This doesn’t seem to be the most complex of beers, but it’s not simplistic and it’s pretty darn tasty.

Feb 26, 2007 Bottle: Poured a pitch-black color porter with a big slightly off-white foamy head with good retention. Aroma of chocolate malt is quite interesting and well balance by some roastiness. Taste is a well balance mix between some chocolate malt with some roasted malt providing some bitterness. Texture is really creamy and this is appreciated considering the style.

Mar 24, 2007 Poured deep brown-rubby-ish color with a decent tan head. Aroma was coffee. Flavor was coffee, nuts, light chocolate support, some licorice. Finishes with a touch of bitter roasted malts and light hops. Much more simple than I was expecting, yet very enjoyable. Mouthfeel was lightly carbonated, and very smooth.

Dec 18, 2008 Pours with a dark brown to black body topped by a thin to medium thick head with a good amount of lacing. It is slightly sweet yet slightly bitter with a light chocolate note and a touch of roast. Full bodied, smooth and a touch warming.

Oct 30, 2005 Dark brown, almost black porter. Not much aroma, mainly burnt notes. Not a very complex flavor. Dark and some chocolade.

Aug 25, 2007 Very deep, dark brown to virtually black pour. Small tan colored head that settles to a thin foamy layer. Small patches of lacing noted. The aroma is big time dark coffee and bitter baker’s chocolate. The flavor follows suit almost exactly. The coffee is so imposing in this one that I didn’t really get any of the dried fruit. It’s pretty bitter, though it does mellow out a bit as it warms. Medium body that goes down moderately smooth and leaves a long coffee finish. Decent brew, but too much in-your-face coffee and not enough depth.
