This one was alright, it didn’t have the chocolatey characters that I expect coming through so much, some coffee notes and a little burnt character, thin sometimes then not so and didn’t notice it was 7% but I drank it easy and fairly enjoyed it.

16.9 ounce bottle purchased from Monument Wine and Liquors. Aroma is of cigarettes and ash trays. Some licorice notes and metallic aromas are also present. Eh, not overly appealing. Opaque black body with a frothy tan head. This is beautiful, but I have to give it a 4 because it was crazy overcarbonated and spilled over when I opened it. Astringent, carbonated start. Becomes a little roasted, burnt, and ashy in the middle. Some light licorice flavors are apparent later. A somewhat dry, hopped, bitter finish with some metallic flavors, too.

Bottle. Bountiful dark chocolate aroma, very nutty with a good amount of toffee and even more roast. Sticky ripe fruits there, too, with some milk chocolate and malted milk balls. Opaque black pour, even under light, with a gorgeous lacing, rocky, creamy tanned/light brown head. Robust, very dry roast flavor, strongly nutty with slight breadiness and hefty chocolate. Faint tongue-prickling, probably from the Centennial. Faint hint of salty licorice. Smooth and silken, but very thin-bodied, almost watery at times. Aftertaste is dry and slightly salty, lots of nutty roast and slight, dark warmth. Solid, repeatable porter - but just barely misses out on Greatness.

Dark with a slight acidity on pouring. Well rounded and dangerously understated for a 7 per center.Quite malty and some coffee preasence as well. Interesting label for an intersting beer.

Bottle from biggcb. Deep chocolate-brown body, thick light tan head. Strong roasty aroma with subtle, light chocolate. Creamy, light body, chalky, with roasted malt, milk chocolate, and bitter hops. Light alcohol notes. Average complexity. Basic but well-made.
