Very nice roasted malt and chocolate aroma but has a bit of a nose tingling sharpness to the aroma that I can’t pin down. Dark brown to black body with a slowly diminshing thumb thick mocha head. Fore is slightly smokey and segues into stale coffee and chocolate. Nice roasty bitterness in the middle and finish. Doesn’t quite have enough freshness to the chocolate malt asspect to it, but still a pretty spot on Porter. Some mild nuttiness in the far aftertaste reminds me of a brown ale. zach8270 (2136), Henrietta, New York, USA

Aroma is heavy roasted malts with a lot of coffee aroma as well. Flavor begins with a roasted and slightly sweet malt taste that goes smoothly to a roasted and burnt malt/coffee middle. Finishes strong with a heavy roast and bitter note. Hops are subdued and the body is smooth and silky. Aftertaste is bitter and lingers for a bit. Nice porter. bager (2121), Copenhagen N, Denmark

Raisin chocolate aroma and it’s relatively fruity overall. Fluffy and light body with chocolate, oats, and bread flavour contributions. The finish is slightly metallic. Not bad.

Pours as black as it gets with a creamy light brown head lasting for a couple of minutes. Sweet roasted malt in the aroma. Also burnt coffee, licorice and even tar. Flavor is roasted malt and coffee as well, with hints of bitter chocolate. Long finish with a nice tip-of-the-tongue bitterness. Oily mouthfeel. A powerful Porter from the enthusiasts at Nøgne Ø. But if somebody insisted that this was a Stout, I probably would believe them. SSSteve (2104), Atlanta, Georgia, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Aug 26, 2007 Black in colour, rich lingering tan coloured head, great lacing. The aroma is sweet and rich, dark chocolate, light liquorice, coffee and light alcohol. The flavour is of chocolate, quite sweet, lots of malt, roasty, nutty, some coffee. Sweet mouthfeel, medium body, medium/high carbonation. Finishes long, sweet with some alcohol heat. The sweetness starts to come through more than the roast as this start to warm up. Quite good and warming.

The aroma has roasted malt, lush creamy aspects, milk chocolate and rich vanilla. Medium / full body with a smooth slick and soft carbonation. The flavor starts off with milk chocolate, roasted malt showing very little bitterness, vanilla cream and light hoppy spice. The finish shows more spice and some white chocolate. Big thumbs up for this world class porter.
