| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Sep 16, 2007 Glad to see this in NC. Pours a dark black (really dark for a porter) and shows a little light around the edges. The head is medium, tan, creamy. The aroma shows roasted coffee and chocolate immediately, sweet, light alcohol. Malt predominant. The hops don’t show until you taste it and then only barely. Tastes sweet, some molasses/brown sugar, roasted chocolate and coffee again, light light alcohol, some mild hop bitterness at the back of the mouth. Smooth roasted palate that finishes nicely. Excellent porter.
