The aroma is delectable, very chocolatey, and the rich flavors continue in the taste (along with a generous, and fairly unexpected bit of smoke and roast coffee). Lustrous mouthfeel initially, but tapers off and is a bit too thin, I think. Overall, though, it’s a lovely porter with complexity and power. sneagrams3 (1757), St. Louis, Missouri, USA

Toffee aromas with hints of cocoa, toast and mild anise. Solid nose! Rather full bodied with a sticky malt character. Coffee and bittersweet chocolate flavors. Cookies and dark berries. Sticky with a mild tart and bitter palate. Decent hop palate. Mild vanilla creaminess. Mild raisin note. Good rolling palate, but on the sweet side. Low effervescence and mild acidity. Almost a Baltic style, but hoppier. Totally tasty! tarjei (1753), Bryne, Norway

Deep brown, almost black, with redtones in strong light. Coffe, roasted/burnt malt, liqourice, lovely fruity sweetness and vanilla - all balanced with nice hops. Dry, bitter finish. Pours out a black color with a big thick tan head on it. Smell is sweet, full of coffee, chocolate, and some fruity notes. It was served at almost perfect temperature. Taste was sweet and rich, with a heavy flavor of chocolate and coffee, yet very smooth. Not flawed in many ways, a very drinkable, very good example of the style. Thanks for this bottle Sam. plovmand (1700), Helsinge, Denmark
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Sep 27, 2008 Bottle at Nnudd tasting. Courtesy of Yngwie. Poured black with a medium beige head. In nose licorice and roasted malts. Medium bodied. It tastes like licorice, bitter chocolate and roasted malts. I thought it would be more complex but pretty good porter. jfm (1695), Holbæk, Denmark
