Bottle. Pitch black colour. Yummy sweet roasted malty chocolate coffee aroma. Great flavour of roasted malt, nroasted caramel, dark chocolate, coffee, bit of dark fruits and hops. Roasty bitter finish. TOP BREW.

LCRBM2: Roast and blackcurrant in the flavor, blackcurrant aroma. Well balanced, pleasant but I want a bit more character.

A Mes rate: 50cl bottle at Bier Circus. Wow. What a head. Sim and I have just sat here watching it settle. It came out so thick it looked like you could stand things on top of it. So solid and creamy. Very similar to the Imperial Stout, just a little mellower. Looks better due to the head and easily worth a 5. Slight honey in the nose. Lots of coffee and dark creamy malt. Very definite cocoa. Bitter and alcoholic finish, in fact the finish goes in distinct stages from strong rubbery notes, then bitter, then alcoholic.

Bottle. [thank you, faroeviking]
Pours black with slight brown edges. A big, dense, creamy, light-brown head. Great duration. Aroma is sweet, good chocolate, some roastiness. Softly carbonated with a general nice creaminess - but seems a little thin. Flavour has lots of sweet, fat chocolate with a good roasted coffe note in the aftertaste. Some bitterness as well. Good porter!

1 pint .9 oz bottle acquired in trade (Mystery Swap v2) with Dickinsonbeer (thanks Paul!). Poured a dark, dark brown (almost black) color with a large sized tan head. Aromas of roast, chocolate, vanilla, wood, and coffee. Nice smelling Porter. Tastes of chocolate, roast, light caramel, and some coffee. Tastes a tad of a let down compared to the nice full aroma. Smooth body with the alcohol hidden. Lacing left on the glass.

Irregular light brown head covers the not so opaque dark brown body. Strongly fruity nose, bursting with grapes and currants, complex and juicy. Additional suggestions of minerals, floral hops, leather would add more deepnedd were they better integrated. Finishing with a watery tang, due to a particularly thin body with very mellow carbonation. Competent alcohol dissimulation. Dryish ashey-dark chocolate malts and floral hops complete the otherwise sweet portrait. Some good individual flavors, but quite small in size and not as cohesive as I’d hoped.
