| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Aug 20, 2007 snuck this one on the plane back from vacation. aroma (through the huge pillowy head) of milk chocolate, roasted malts and light coffee. medium bodied with a creamy mouth feel (don’t know if i like that in a porter???). flavor is initially coffee and dark malts. as it warms, it develops some red wine characteristics nuttiness and some ashiness. leaves a burnt coffee flavor in my mouth. missing that bitter/acidic/bitey flavor in most porters....very smooth and creamy JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Sep 12, 2008 Bottle. Black in color, medium thick brown bubbly head. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 22, 2007 Bottle. Opaque black with a medium tan head. Prominent roasty mocha nose, very nice. Mmmm very deep, roasty rich chocolately flavor with the perfect amount of caramel sweetness underneath. Very well balanced with a little citrus hop note in there. Not astringent or bitter. The takeaway flavor is caramel chocolatey goodness. Alcohol content very well hidden. Doesn’t have a thick body like some stouts; more like classic medium/light porter body with soft carbonation. Very flavorful and drinkable. Highly recommended. Finn (1510), Tromsø, Norway

Light brown head lasting a couple of minutes. Roasted aroma dominated by coffee and fruit. Medium bitterness. Not so full bodied as you expect a porter. Dry, fruity aftertaste - leaving a taste of chocolate and coffee. KI=6 Eructoblaster (1507), Gatineau, Quebec, Canada
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Oct 28, 2007 Bottle - 500ml. Opaque black body topped with a lasting beige foamy/creamy head. Lovely malty aroma with roasty, coffeeish, and cocoa hints. Some subtle smokiness is also detectable. Taste is complex, robust, and very well balanced. It ends with a long and warming bitter/roasty finish. Excellent Porter. 17thfloor (1502), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Aug 18, 2008 Pours a murky dark espresso brown with a lovely light creamy tan head. Sweet molasses aroma, bakers chocolate and lots of fresh hops. Rich chocolate, condensed milk, floral hops, a bit vinous and nutty, light coffee and molasses, complex and definitely Nogne. Medium/light body with silky tingling carbonation. Easy drinking Porter that could easily be a Brown Ale. Really a well done brew. shadey (1501), Rochester, New York, USA
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Oct 10, 2007 Bottle from Beers of the World. Completely matte black pour with a really beautiful head of thick dense mocha cream. This is a nice looking porter. There is also some lacing on the glass that adds to its attractiveness. The aroma is surprisingly lacking. I can pick up some mild roast and some alcohol but not much else. The aroma is pretty weak. The flavor is a completely different story. The first sip told me I was going to like this beer, but as the first big mouthful roller over my tongue I am thinking more along the lines of love. The silky smooth body carries with it a delicate combination of creamy milk chocolate and some assertive but smooth and mild roast. It’s a big flavor but it weight lightly on the tongue. There are some traces of alcohol but all-in-all very good.
