| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 18, 2008 500 ml bottle. Black, almost pitch black, but there are some reddish hues. Thick beige and grey head that clings to the glass. Chocolatey aroma that leans towards cocao powder. Grassy hop aroma. Piney hop flavours and crisp carbonation balances a rich chewy chocolate flavour. Malty, but not really sweet, likely because of the amount of hops used. Bitterness lingers a long time together with oily chocolate. Delicious. BeerBiker (1392), Kathmandu, Nepal

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Apr 16, 2007 Aroma is rich malt, chocolate cake frosting, a touch of strawberry jam, and a coffee bean or two, pretty amazing complexity for a porter, All that variety just dosen’t make it to the taste, surprisingly lighter body, with malt wort and cocoa powder dominating the lighter taste, some coffee bitterness in finish. Touch of fruitness on about third sip, tastes settles into a lighter choclate taste, smooth and creamy ,some unidentified globules on the bottom of the glass. Will have to check out the higher rated brews from this wonderful brewery. Thanks Axel Stine (1380), St. Paul, Minnesota, USA

Many layers of complexity. Tastes of mayan chocolate and roasted malt. Bright, defined fruit flavors open up with warmth, revealing raspberry and red currant. Smooth palate, not overpowering with a touch of lactose sweetness. Prime. DragonStout (1380), Pataskala, Ohio, USA
