Very dark brown with a brown head. Aroma and flavor of rich roasted malt, with some chocolate and coffee. Pretty smooth and drinkable.

Strong coffee, roasted malts, vanilla and raisin aroma. This is quite a delicious porter actually, with a good amount of bitterness to balance out the gentle lactose sweetness. I can easily say that this is one of my favorite porters - robust, dry, bitter and otherwise just tasty.

500ml bottle. Pours a near-black color with a relatively small tan head. Allowed to warm up slightly before consuming (not to 50, but closer), as consumed additional aroma and flavor stood out more. Aroma of sweet chocolates, lightly roasted malts, touch of coffee. Flavor is a bold, dark and milk chocolate with light malts flavor, with notes of coffee hidden in the rear. Finish is a Bitter finish, dark chocolates. A really wonderful beer, with a relatively low alcohol content for easy consumption.

Side by side with Dark Horizon just for some contrast. Opaque black with tan burnt head. Burnt toast aroma with chocolate, dough, and sweet malt. Chocolate flavor with coffee, roasted malt, med sweet. Medium to thin body with no carb. A little thin but very interesting flavor overall.

Dark brown body, light brown creamy head, no laces; quite big, deep and complex nose: loads of chocolate malt, cacao and some strange notes like a combination of hop and yeast; very full, bitter body, creamy/oily texture; long finish, first very warm. creamy and little bitter: cacao, malt, bitter chocolate. Lacks a bit the balance between nose and body, body is almost to powerful at least in comparison with the nose. Good (not great) beer. - - - - - - - Tasted blind at Sk8vikings amazing Porter/Stout tasting (5-4-6-3-13) - Black body, creamy small head; Quite small closed, a little metallic nose. With some brown sugar and very little dry hop; Big bubbled little creamy body, watery textured; Into quite long but very discrete watery finish, not a lot of aroma, mostly dry hop (like I could imagine hop the).

Beer pours black with a nice, thick tan colored head that is retained. Aroma is roasted malts, with nuts Flavor has some coffee and lots of roasted nuts, some cream as well. A very simple and delicous beverage.

Poured a very dark brown with a tan head. Aroma is mostly of coffee and some caramel. Taste is also mainly coffee but a bit watery for my expectations.

Brown bottle, 0,5 l, batch 232, bottled on 100206, best before 100209, savoured on February 26 février 2007; eye: voluminous creamy coffee-color head that turns into a blanket covering the beer, black, opaque, some lacing; nose: nice roasted malt, high-cocoa content chocolate, vanilla; mouth: in that order, surpisingly smooth giving the impression that the beer will be thinner, but suddenly impressive arrival of the roasted malt, a little vanilla, dark chocolate, a bit of hops, finale all in roasted malt that becomes more and more acrid but in a pleasant way, lightly astringent, creamy texture, mildly bitter, lightly acrid, the alcohol is totally hidden, good carbonation, full body; overall: quite enjoyable FRANÇAIS Bouteille brune, 0,5 l, batch 232, embouteillé le 100206, meilleure avant 100209, acheté le 5 février 2007, savourée le 27 février 2007; oeil : mousse crémeuse abondante couleur café, noire, opaque, un peu de dentelle; nez : beau malt torréfié, chocolat à haute teneur en cacao, vanille; bouche : curieusement « smooth », donne même l’impression qu’elle sera plus mince que prévu, puis tout à coup apparttion impressionnante du malt torréfié, petite touche de vanille, chocolat noir, un peu de houblon, finale toute en torréfaction qui devient de plus en plus amère, légère astringence agréable, texture crémeuse, moyennement amère, légèrement âcre, on ne perçoit aucunement l’alcool, bonne carbonatation, corsée; en résumé : bien aimée
