| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | May 19, 2008 50 cl bottle on 5/19/08. Dark brown with mahogany highlights and a large, creamy, and persistent light tan head. Inviting coffee and chocolate aroma accented with roasted nuts and a bit of earthiness. Medium to full body and light carbonation match up well with a creamy smooth mouthfeel.
Molasses sweetness subsides slowly, ultimately giving way to a gentle spicy bitterness. Wonderful balance in this fine porter. Very drinkable, highly recommended. Gregis (1132), Shawnee, Kansas, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jan 25, 2009 Pours a dark, opaque brown with a small tan head that deposits patchy lace on the glass. The nose is of chocolate, light coffee, faint almonds and roasted chocolate malt. Medium-bodied and creamy-slick with a mildly bitter and roasty finish. Sweet roasted chocolaty malt with a light almond and hop bitterness at the finish. A lingering coffee roastiness compliments the hops into the aftertaste. This is a fine porter. I really like this beer. piscator34 (1131), Winnipeg, Manitoba, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 14, 2008 Bottled sample consumed with oakbluff. Near black in colour with medium carbonation. Aromas of dark chocolate, coffee, and red grapes. Very roasty and dry in the mouth, but it doesn’t sacrifice too much in terms of malt presence or body. Very drinkable for 7% ABV, with a long roasted malt finish. Very good indeed. doubleo (1121), San Diego, California, USA

| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 1, 2009 Crushed with Jakebra. Dark, dark, dark pour with a big head. Definitely robust, which is how I like em. Roasty as hell. Some tobacco, some chocolate, plenty of awesomeness. One kickass porter.
