Aroma and flavor are of espresso coffee. Actually, this tasted like an iced espresso. The finish was very hoppy. Actually, the hops reminded me of many of the west coast beers. Possibly Centennial hops. Awesome. mgermani (865), Vancouver, British Columbia, Canada
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Mar 24, 2008 Pours a pitch black with a brown foam head with poor retention and some lacing with a wonderful chocolate aroma. Tastes dry and quite reserved, light notes of smoke, good hoppiness, warm and dry with an astringent, woody finish. Creamy but pinched (thin) body, passable carbonation. Very subtle, pleasant beer, well executed but not too adventurous. glennmastrange (857), hobe sound, Florida, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Dec 24, 2007 Bottle. Moderate malt aromas of dark bread and light coffee, light hops note of herbs, moderate yeast of earth and smoke, wood and dates in the background. Head is huge, tan and rocky with fair lacing and is mostly lasting. Color is solid black. Flavor is lightly sweet and acidic to start and lightly acidic, bitter and a little sour in the long finish. Palate is medium to full, creamy, with a lively carbonation and finishes moderately dry. A very good smokey porter. nolankowal (854), Columbus, Ohio, USA

Aroma of chovcolate, roasted malt and coffee. The flavor had some nice roastiness with both chocolate and coffe coming out. The body was smooth but a bit thin as well. Overall though it was a nice offering. heavy (852), Split, Croatia
| 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Mar 31, 2009 25/03 0.5 l bottle my friend brought from Trondheim, fala lipa Dijo! My first Norwegian beer, strange but true. It poured a black body, actually brown dark as hell, with small brown head, maybe the darkest I’ve seen on a beer! Coffee, caramel and some herbal spices dominate the aroma, but alcohol is felt as well. Fine flavor, dark malt shows up as a coffee with a bit of caramel. Slightly alcoholic. More subtle thing are starting to emerge while you drink it, as herbal spices and licorice, but I definitely miss some fruitiness to round it up, at least a little bit. Bitterish around the finish. Fine porter, but I still prefer our Tomislav to this. KingpinIPA (842), Milwaukee, Wisconsin, USA
| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 17/20 | Nov 10, 2007 Dark color. Smell of roasted coffee, malt, chocolate, liquid smoke, dark fruit, hops and a touch of caramel/toffee. Taste of coco, hops, roasted coffee beans, malt, bread, caramel and sugar. It was thin but still enjoyable. Wish it was a little thicker. OSLO (827), Australia
| 3.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Oct 28, 2007 [Bottle] Pours black with a light tan head. Aroma is roasted malt, coffee, alcohol, and raisins. Taste is coffee and roasted malt with a little fruitiness (perhaps raisin). Quite thin. Decent finish. Too thin for me, but the aroma is pretty good. tgncc (824), Bellmore, New York, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 15/20 | Sep 9, 2008 Aroma of roasted coffe, and dark, sweet fruit. The apopearance is dark brown, with a purple tinge. The flavor is roasty to be sure, but with a steady component of fruity sweetness. The surprise here is the finish, it has a nice bite from hops which didn’t make themselves evident previously. Great porter.
