| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Dec 10, 2007 500ml bottle. Pours normal porter brown/black with a large foamy tan ocean of a head that sticks around. Aroma is scotch tape and smoke at first but then fades into a nice creamy chocolate smell. Very nice milk chocolate aroma akin to Bell’s Kalamazoo. Some smokiness resides making it unique. Smells smooth and creamy. Taste is chocolatey, lightly bitter, subdued roastiness. Mouthfeel is creamy and soft though watery, to a fault though just barely. A little flat maybe. Incredibly drinkable. This is a good porter. Maverick34 (729), New York, USA

| 3.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Nov 23, 2009 1pt 9oz bottle. Pours a very dark brown color with a rich dense light brown head. The smell is roasted coffee beans with hints of chocolate and caramel. Flavors of roasted coffee, bittersweet chocolate, dried flowers, earthy hops, bready malt, and dark fruit. A well balanced beer where the alcohol is well hidden. Medium bodied and very smooth with a nice slightly dry finish. Guerde (710), Welcome, Minnesota, USA
| 3.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Oct 31, 2007 (bottle) Pours dark with a tan head. The aroma has a lot of burnt malt, some coffee and roasted barley. The flavor is somewhat dry with dark chocolate and cocoa, with a lingering roasted finish. My only knock on this beer is that it is kinda thin. rajendra82 (704), Alpharetta, Georgia, USA
| 4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jun 24, 2007 This bottle of Nøgne Ø Porter was picked up during my last visit to Green’s. When uncapped, the beer formed a rapidly rising head in the bottle, but the quickness of my hands avoided any spillage. In my imperial pint glass, this formed a four finger tall beige head, which looked in stark contrast to the deep black color of the body. The hefty roastiness of the aroma indicated that this was going to be forceful porter, the kind of drink the vikings would have enjoyed before going on a berserk raid in an alternate brewing universe. Coffee and chocolate were everywhere in the nose. The taste was sharp yet soft as the astringent taste and silky body rubbed shoulders in the same glass. I did not get much of the dried fruit flavors that were mentioned on the back label, but coffee and toffee were definitely abundant. Slight sourness in the aftertaste, and a hint of bitter cocoa lingered on. Some brashness in the mouthfeel from the roast grain, but it was right at home in the style. Well done imported porter, which is not the typical case. Tejas (704), Dallas, Texas, USA
| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jul 17, 2008 Smells and taste like it has oatmeal in it, which is OK. Dry palate. Didn’t get much fruity flavors Without a doubt a good solid porter but I was expecting more. Got another bottle so maybe that one will floor me.
