Touch of fruitness on about third sip, tastes settles into a lighter choclate taste, smooth and creamy ,some unidentified globules on the bottom of the glass. Will have to check out the higher rated brews from this wonderful brewery. Thanks Axel Dixen (1465), Flagstaff, Arizona, USA

Lovely malty aroma with roasty, coffeeish, and cocoa hints. Some subtle smokiness is also detectable. Taste is complex, robust, and very well balanced. It ends with a long and warming bitter/roasty finish. Excellent Porter. GuilTTy (538), Cherry Hill, New Jersey, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 16/20 | Jun 21, 2008 Thanks to a great bartender at Philadelphia’s Eulogy Tavern I had a bottle of this great porter. Pours a dark midnight brown and supports a thin but dense and long lasting light brown head with solid curtains of lacing. Roasted malt, bittersweet chocolate, and toffee in the nose with the same in the flavors. Some cocoa and vanilla along with enough hops to provide a nice bitter overtone as well. Smooth and velvety texture and a dry finish with a little peppery alcohol popping out at the end. If other brewers in Norway turn out this kind of quality, I might have to add their stamp to my passport. AmEricanbrew (1925), Wynot, Wyoming, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Dec 12, 2007 Pitch black with a tan head. Huge smell of roasted grains, nuts and pit fruits. Medium bodied and smooth. Intense flavors of blackened malts, ripe pit fruits, malted chocolate. A rich, complex porter here, I like this better than Nogne’s Imperial Stout. Excellent. 10/26/07 JFURYCAT (791), East Stroudsburg, Pennsylvania, USA

I enjoyed this beer by myself at Cooper’s Seafood after packing stuff for my 84 year old grandma. I feel the alcohol is well hidden but was tired so maybe it wasn’t as noticeable. | 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Oct 26, 2007 The aroma was strong espresso roast and chocolate coupled with dark fruits, most notably raisins. Prunes were also present with a caramel undercurrent. The beer poured into the glass crystal clear black with a ruby highlight and a light brown head which lasted well to lace the glass. The flavor was caramel and chocolate with an espresso roasty component. The caramel kept the roasted malts at bay and the bittering in check. The chocolate and roast were smooth and well done. The finish was dry with lasting chocolate and roast into the aftertaste. The flavor contained some grassy hop bittering and flavor. The body was medium with a fairly low carbonation but a creamy texture on the palate. The body was medium-full and nicely done. A really nice porter, bigger than most and very easy to consume! 16.9 ounce bottle. mgumby10 (1858), Jupiter, Florida, USA
| 4.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 17/20 | Mar 25, 2007 Pours black with a very light tan head. Smells pretty roasty, with some pretty nice chocolate and dark mlats representing it. Very dense bodied, big chocolate, some light coffee, very roasty, nutty taste. Tastes bigger than 7%. Not a whole lot of variation between this beer and the brown except this one is alot heavier in its mouthfeel and body. Pretty smooth finish. Good brew. Impressed with this bewery.
