A high overall rating due to a great tasting AND very drinkable beer. The palate is its downfall, but also makes it a fantastic beer to enjoy the great taste of a fine porter without having to nurse it and think about every little sip. You can almost gulp this beer and still appreciate it. Nose of chocolate covered raisins and a hint of yeastiness. Flavor is big malts, and again, chocolate covered raisins. Let me tell you, that flavor is fantastic in a porter. Anyways, the downfall is that it is a little light on the tongue, and there is just a tiny hint of wateriness before the hops dry out the finish and round it out. A great beer but it could be a little heavier, then it would be perfect.

Thanks retorp for the share. Pours dark brown/ black with a nose of earthy coffee, dark fruit, vanilla, and some cherry?. Flavor is roasted malt, ripe dark fruit, coffee, bitter chicory, up through the finish. Very enjoyable porter that is medium-bodied and finishes clean and somewhat bitter. Great porter.

Poured a very dark brown, like your usual porter, with only a slight head. Smells like a fresh pot of coffee :-) loved it. Finish with a bit of a wood flavor. This is a really good porter.

Holy cow, this is tasty. Bottle; deep black pour with smallish and diminishing off-white head. Bitter chocolate, sweet coffee, dried cherries and other dried fruits. A touch of creaminess, but none of that sour porter thing. Minor notes of peat and smoke. Tons of roasty malt and a noticeable hop presence. This is a huge beer, but quite drinkable. Fantastic.

yummy bottle at ethereal’s. Raspberry, medicinal herbs, seaweed, toasted malt, tar black, brown stable head, camphor, roasted barley, bitter, salty liquorice sweets, smooth, expertly balanced, yummy stuff.- this is honestly what my notes looked like! a bit of a mess but i did really like it :-)

Pours a very dark brown with a tall and thick light brown head. Fantastic aroma of coffee and sweet roasted caramel malts. Mouth feel is very smooth and creamy. The initial taste is very sweet, a little bit of nutty chocolate. The finish is a lightly caramelized coffee bean. Very delicious aftertaste to a well balanced beer.

Crushed with Jakebra. Dark, dark, dark pour with a big head. Definitely robust, which is how I like em. Roasty as hell. Some tobacco, some chocolate, plenty of awesomeness. One kickass porter.
