May 3, 2007 Bottle, thanks to shigadeyo. This was a huge gusher, but what was left pours opaque blackish brown with a tan head. Aroma of coffee, nuts, vanilla. Medium-light body and moderate carbonation. Tastes of dark chocolate, nuts, vanilla, molasses and coffee. Bittersweet espresso and tobacco finish. Seems more like a dry stout than a porter.

malty with al ot of coffee. Medium to full body with a long bitter finish.

Nov 23, 2009 1pt 9oz bottle. Pours a very dark brown color with a rich dense light brown head. The smell is roasted coffee beans with hints of chocolate and caramel. Flavors of roasted coffee, bittersweet chocolate, dried flowers, earthy hops, bready malt, and dark fruit. A well balanced beer where the alcohol is well hidden. Medium bodied and very smooth with a nice slightly dry finish.

Apr 24, 2007 Bottle, poured black with deep brown edges. Blackest porter I’ve ever had. Great roasty aroma, a bit of anise, cherry and vanilla. Great flavor, burnt malts with a sweetness that melds incredibly. This is a top notch porter. Norway is off to a good start in my book.

Oct 2, 2007 Bottle from Quaffs, Spitalfields. As dark brown as most stouts with a thick malty tan head. Nose of sweet roasted malt and coffee, some yeast, honey, vanilla and dark chocolate also. Taste is coffee, baking chocolate and malt. Dry, powdery palate with liquorice, cocoa and hop notes in the swallow. Excelent brew, up there amongst the best I’ve had...

Jun 14, 2008 Straightforward but solid porter. Poured black with average head that was not sustained. Nice lacing. Aroma of dark fruits and chocolate, although not too much aroma. Flavor of choclate, malit with a little hop dryness at the end. Not overly complex. Smooth full bodied taste. Reallly nice porter.

Aug 1, 2009 From the keg at Platform Bar, Brisbane. Pours very dark brown with a medium off white head. Rich dark chocolate, toast, mocha and dark fruit. Smooth mouthfeel and good bitterness. A nicely balanced porter. Big malty finish. My only problem is that one glass just isn’t enough!
