Aromas of coffee, slight chocolate, caramel, and a good amount of roast. Flavor is roasty mostly with some good coffee and chocolate notes. A good amount of caramel there too and a touch of liccorice. Good smooth well carbonated creamy palate that I thought had a nice pleasant mouthfeel. Pretty nice porter overall and I do believe this is also my first Norwegian brew.. HogTownHarry (4020), Toronto (Harbourfront), Ontario, Canada
| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | May 18, 2007 Bottle (500ml). Poured oily opaque black with slight reddish highlights and a solid, lasting light brown head. Oddly sweet and floral hop aroma, very light milk chocolate malt, a little coffee character. Lovely smooth chocolate roast malt taste, lactic and lightly nutty, mild floral hop and alcohol bitterness in the finish. Silky mouthfeel, very nicely carbonated, with gentle lactic acidity in the fairly short finish. Very nice, somewhat more warming than many porters, easy to drink JMFG (1514), Florida, USA
