Apr 11, 2007 Beer pours black with a nice, thick tan colored head that is retained. Aroma is roasted malts, with nuts Flavor has some coffee and lots of roasted nuts, some cream as well. A very simple and delicous beverage.

Jul 22, 2005 Cask@Chelmsford Beer Festival. A really nice soft roasty porter. Smoky chocolate flavours also notice, touches of dark fruit.berries but the main thing is the roasty characters. Finish is quite dry and more-ish, i like this a lot.

Oct 20, 2006 DBF 2005, cask. Black, thin beige head and gentle fine condition. Pleasant sweet coffee and burnt roast barley aromas, full bodied in the mouth with a creamy sweetness and gentle bitter coffee notes, lingering chalky roasted finish with a little sweetness and a restrained bitterness.

Bottled(500ml). -Black coloured, cappucino brown head, chicory chocolate nose. Also, strong chicory and chocolate taste with notes of smoke. Rather bitter finish. Quite one-dimensional porter.

Nov 20, 2007 Bottle. Very dark brown with a beige head. Aromas are earthy roast malts with citrus. Smoky with some chocolate. Flavours are roast malts with sweet and dark chocolate. Rich and malty. Bitter and dry on the finish. Oily and addictive.

Mar 26, 2007 Beautiful beer, very smooth, mild and slick body with chocolate, plum, coffee and nutty notes. Basically, all the good stuff you’d expect from a porter, none of the bad stuff...although the body could’ve been more robust. Clean, smoky, soft, very drinkable. Classic!

Sep 23, 2004 A pitch black beer with a small chocolate brown disappearing head. The aroma is very sweet with notes of roasted bread and chocolate. The flavor is sweet with notes of roasted bread, alcohol, and chocolate, but the body is a little thin.
