Had this at Puck Fair and irish Bar in NYC. I just started a novel by Norwegian author so decided to celebrate with a beer from Norway. really good beer, good coffee favor and some smoke, pretty much liked everything about it

500ml bottle.
Pours jet black, with an espresso head. Fantastic hoppy aroma, with loads of rich dark chocolate. And what a delightful taste! Burnt darkly roasted malt, crisp bitter highlights, some gingerness too. And my - what a long aftertaste carrying all of the above. Covers the alcohol very well too.

Very dark porter with light beige head. Aroma is very interesting (chocolate, licorize, fruits?). Flavor is very balanced and not too much burned. Quite easy to drink (surprise for me). Very good and interesting porter.

Pours a rich, black color with a nice tan head. Smell is dry, roasty malt with some light dusty hops, and some chocolate comes through as it sits a bit. Taste is exceptional. Smooth, creamy mouthfeel and a somehow dry, cocoa flavor balanced perfectly with bittersweet dark roast. Finishes so smoothly and cleanly, leaving a hint of a pleasant aftertaste. Carbonation is spot on, and makes for a silky, creamy beer. Very, very drinkable. One of my favorite porters for sure.

bottle. pours a deep black with a tan head that lasts through most of the glass. Tremendous amount of malts in here.... also, coffee, fruits (slight plum) and chocolate. medium body, not too carbonated and very diverse. A very nice porter from Norway.... one of the best imo. complex, delicious and full of enjoyment.

500 ml bottle from Holiday. This one pours and opaque black color with a one finger tan head that last a short while. The aroma was medium in strength with dark chocolate and a touch of molasses. The flavor is rich with more dark chocolate, cappuccino, plums , roasted malts and an earthy quality. The hops are effective and well integrated, but its the malts that carry the day with this porter. The mouthfeel is smooth, full and creamy. The finish is long and gratifying. Overall: This is a great porter and a malt-head’s dream. Recommended.

Batch 336, brewed 28.01.08. Large, medium tan head. Pitch black, unpenetratable and shiny colour. A bit closed on the nose at first, but opens up after a while in the glass and the temperature rises a bit. Aromas of dark malts, raisins, chocolate, toffee and coffee with floral notes and hints of red berries and banana. Medium to full bodied and smooth on the palate with good, fine bubbled mousse. The coffee is more pronounced in the taste than on the nose. Finishes with a long, fresh, grainy bitter afertaste. Well balanced. Powerful, but still elegant. Wonderful porter!
