May 12, 2007 16.9 oz bottle, purchased at Holiday wine cellar. A damn fine porter. Dark, rich black color. Aroma and flavor are of espresso coffee. Actually, this tasted like an iced espresso. The finish was very hoppy. Actually, the hops reminded me of many of the west coast beers. Possibly Centennial hops. Awesome.

May 15, 2007 Pours black in color with a light tan head. Nice complex aroma of roasted malts, coffee, with a hint of chocolate. Flavor was sweet and rich with bittersweet chocolate and coffee. Nicely balanced with a roasted malt finish. Very nice

Jul 3, 2008 Sample courtesy of piscator- very rich pouring brew. Nose- lots of roast and dark chocolate. Taste- dry, little smoky, good roast and medium bodied. Carbonation is on low side which improves drinkability.

Nov 20, 2009 A good traditional Porter. Reminds me of meantime london porter (this is better) and tokyo black (nogne is probably not as good). Lots of chocolate and coffee notes, though slightly thin on the palate. Well made but not jaw dropping.

Mar 24, 2008 Pours a pitch black with a brown foam head with poor retention and some lacing with a wonderful chocolate aroma. Tastes dry and quite reserved, light notes of smoke, good hoppiness, warm and dry with an astringent, woody finish. Creamy but pinched (thin) body, passable carbonation. Very subtle, pleasant beer, well executed but not too adventurous.

Feb 23, 2007 Opaque brown with a large head. Aroma of rich chocolate and some coffee. Taste seems to favor coffee more, with some bitter hops. Sweet and bitter flavor. Slight chalky finish.

Jul 16, 2008 Pretty good. Roasted malt flavor with more chocolate than usual, not very sweet which was good. Dryer taste than most porters I have had. Very drinkable. Did not taste any alcohol. Nice bitter finish. Surprisingly light bodied for the dark color and alcohol content.

Mar 9, 2007 Bottle. NIce dark tan creamy head (mostly lasting), into black opaque body. Great lacing. Aroma: Strong of cocoa and some cofee. Flavor of roated malts: initially light sweetness...finish mid level bitterness. Something different in this one....can’t put my finger on it though (slightly chemilcally-not as off putting as it sounds). Medium to think body. Lively carbonation. Slightly dry texture. Long lasting finish. Pretty damn good. (Wait I think I almost have the different flavor...some of it is licorice....but still more that is a bit chemically)
