Aroma is rich of roasted malts, chocolate, slight coffee, molasses, and just a very slight hint of alcohol. Begins with a very strong roasted malt flavor with lots more coffee then the aroma led on to believe. The roasted flavors give way to the sweeter flavors of molasses and dark fruit. Has a pretty decent, slight bitterness on the finish that I was not expecting. A very delicious porter. luvcasks (178), USA

Bitter dark chocolate coffee and dried dates and figs in the note along with some bready notes
Taste: A very warm inviting rich blend of dark cocoa, espresso like notes dark dried fruits and some nutty flavors enveloped in a lightly silky package stopped from being too viscous with just a touch of chalkiness
Overall: What a wonderful beer - I just love the silky smooth textural component enveloping a lot of classic porter like notes. The best part being the dark malt flavors compliment and not dominate each other Ibrew2or3 (2766), Safety Harbor, Florida, USA
| 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Apr 9, 2007 0.5L poured deep dark amber with frothy malted milk shake head. Chewy aroma of molasses, chocolate, coffee, burnt malts and a hint of vanilla. The flavor starts with roasted to burnt malts. The dry maltiness slowly bleeds into sweet and syrupy notes starting with coffee then rolling into molasses, sweet chocolate, a hint of sweet caramel and an even fainter hint of dark fruit. I love the way it begins in standard porter fashion and then adds malty sweetness and smooth complexity as the taste progresses. In the after taste I’m left with a classic porter black patent burnt malt flavor. As it warms I get freshly cooked brownies and dark fruit compote. Theis (3791), Denmark

Sweet molasses aroma, bakers chocolate and lots of fresh hops. Rich chocolate, condensed milk, floral hops, a bit vinous and nutty, light coffee and molasses, complex and definitely Nogne. Medium/light body with silky tingling carbonation. Easy drinking Porter that could easily be a Brown Ale. Really a well done brew. FatPhil (3483), Espoo, Finland

Pours jet black, with an espresso head. Fantastic hoppy aroma, with loads of rich dark chocolate. And what a delightful taste! Burnt darkly roasted malt, crisp bitter highlights, some gingerness too. And my - what a long aftertaste carrying all of the above. Covers the alcohol very well too. TET (245), Finland

Aroma is very interesting (chocolate, licorize, fruits?). Flavor is very balanced and not too much burned. Quite easy to drink (surprise for me). Very good and interesting porter.
