Bottle, 6.5%. Batch #235. Hoppy and quite yeasty aroma, a little malty. Quite cloudy orange colour. Small white head. The flavour is quite hoppy with sweet, dried fruit notes. Good bitter finish, with a hint of yeast. Well-balanced, but I could have done without the yeast notes.

Bottled (brygget 170407, batch #28?1)
Hazy orange color, decent steady white head. Mango, orange and yeast in the nose. Quite full-bodied as a saison. Starts fruity-sweetish start, then it turns bitterish - slightly grassy - hoppy. Very leafy, pinewoody aftertaste. Similar Belgium-British crossover character than in 2007 Easter beer. Not the most typical saison, but certainly it has Nøgne Ø -quality finger print in it.

500 bottle. Mustardyellow, very pleasant head. As for many of NØ’s beers it is quite bitter, especially when cold, gets more of the fruity balanced round taste when tempered, almost with hints of ginger (!). A nice aperitif, but I prefer the Wit of the belgian attempts from NØ.

(Bottle BB 17/04/10) Fruity, flowery and malty aroma. Yellow (slightly reddish) colour hazy (murky after sedimentation poured in) and small, white head with fair lacing. Fruity (lemon, orange), malty, yeasty (after sedimentation poured in) and slightly bitter flavour. Lively carbonated, slightly sticky and medium to full-bodied palate with a hint of alcohol. My first saison! 21/06/07

500 ml bottle. The aroma is bitter and reminds me of Nøgne Ø India Pale Ale. The flavor is also bitter and surprisingly not that much fruit. Could have more character in the finish because now it leaves a a sticky bitter taste. Doesn’t stand out as a saison because of the wheat malt giving it a weissbier flavor. Although not very special it’s a good beer to drink.

Haven’t had a "saison" before, but this is definately a positive surprise. Packs features of weissbiers and ales. Full mouthfeel and huge on taste. Ginger, some yeast, oranges, hops and some sweetness. Very nice. Smooth weissbier style carb.

0.5 l bottle. Orange yellow color with creamy head. Sweetish, spicy, herbal, tart fruity and a bit soapy aroma. Notes of clove, pepper, coriander, thyme, citrus and alcohol. Spicy and meaty flavor with distintive clove note. Oily and yeasty palate. Some acidity and dry spices in the finish. A bit too heavy and meaty on spices. Lacks the refreshing dryness apparent in best saisons.
