Commercial Description:

Bottle. Hazy orange/red colour with a white head. Aroma: chemical, sour/tart, plastic, light lingonberries. Flavor: chemical, sour, light lingonberries, light bret/horse blanket, some wood, bitter finish. Interesting, but the strong chemical note is unfortunately quite off-putting.

Bottle from West Lakeview. This smells EXCELLENT. Better than 3F Vintage, DDG, Hommage.... this smells excellent. Feet, mold, fruit skins, dank yeast, just name it. Not much wood but still manages a great depth of aroma. Flavor is where it falls apart for me: thin, gassy, sharp, imbalanced. Good chance this was too young.

Bottle. It’s a gusher, giving a pinkish orange body, hazy, and topped by a finger-thick, creamy, off-white head. Pink grapefruit, some citrus-peel, a faint and diminishing rubbery touch, berries and higher alcohol on the nose. Sourish, berry flavor, mostly lingonberry, with some alcohol. Medium body, dry and effervescent. Berry-like sourness in the finish. A strange beer indeed, or at least unusual, but I like it, it’s quenching and tasteful, but one bottle would probably be enough. 090828

Hazzy red colour, with white lacing. Bottle exploded on opening. Aroma smells slightly vinegar and wine (a dry red) and cranberry. Tastes like a mild sour, slighty acidic with a slightly fruity background. Not bad, but nothing to write home about.

Tasted 2009-12-26. Fresh bottle. Pours dense, orange with big, frothy, pink head. Lotsa floaties. Aroma of wild fermentation - sour yet yeasty. Taste is a lot less sour than the aroma promises. Still very tasty. A little bitterness at the end. Carbonation on the heavy side, but goes good with the taste. Overall very balanced.

Bottled@Pikkulintu, Helsinki. Amber colour, small beige head. Aroma is sour berries, wood and some slight notes of yeast. Flavour is quite much lingonberries along with some slight wooden and earthy notes. A rather pleasantly balanced sour berrybrew.

Bottle. Reddish hazy amber, off white head. Lingonberry, tartness, cellar and a little perfume in aroma. Flavour is sweet with lingonberries, just a little tartness and a fine bitterness. Quite decent though it didn’t rock my boat as much as expected. I’m still giving it a go again if I come across it.

Tried a bottle of this recently. Colour... cloudy amber with no head. Nose... funky, musty and hint of dichlorobenzene! Palate... eeewwww! Too funky! And not in a good way!! A quick shot of polymers, dioxin and PCB’s with a faint hint of lingonberries and brett.
