ChristianScheffel (2331), Odense, Denmark Nov 20, 2008 Black with a firm and lasting light brown head. Luckily, roasted malt and chocolate is allowed to dominate the aroma, Christmas or not. There is a little wood, smoke and a touch of undefined spice on top of it. The flavour is dry and roasted with a delicate fruity finish. The lasting aftertaste adds licorice and chocolate. It’s one to sip, but it takes more than one sip to appreciate.

Maria (4973), Thisted, Denmark Dec 31, 2008 It is black with a red hue along the sides and the bottom of the glass and the head is huge and creamy. The aroma has notes of roasted malt, chocolate and a little spice. The flavour has a light sweetness and a roasted bitterness, notes of roasted malt, bitter chocolate, coffee and licorice. The notes of bourbon, wood and spice are very subdued. IMO the nice Skärgårdsporter is better au naturel or in one of the other versions. stouby (1599), Holbaek, Denmark Dec 30, 2008 Bottle at home.
