Aug 2, 2008 Very deep, almost black color with dark brown head. Aroma is dark chocolatey, roasty malty and very much coffeey. Flavor is same: chocolate(,) malts and coffee. Also some liqueur-like flavor. Medium-bodied, oily, low and smoothly carbonated palate.

Jul 30, 2008 Bottled.. been sitting in my fridge for a while b/c of the price tag ;) Poured deep brown with a short-lived, fizzy tan head. The aroma picked up sweeter coffee and semi-sweet chocolate with a moderate, and well-balanced overall roast.. a bit of molasses and anise as bit players.. perhaps some toasted oats in there as well contributing to the sweetness.. quite delightful! The flavor had sweet, lightly-roasted coffee at the core with milk chocolate and flaked oat sweetness surrounding.. licorice gave a little spice around the edges.. espresso bitterness and refreshing sweeter coffee on the finish. Medium-bodied with low carbonation and a slow, sweet movement across the palate.. enjoyable finish. Very good stuff!

Jul 28, 2008 Black color with a thin, quickly disappearing head. Strong espresso and chocolate malt aroma. Espresso dominates the flavor. Some heavily charred malt as well, bordering on astringent. Light pine hop flavor. Thin body.

Jul 18, 2008 Courtesy of Quake1028. The aroma is dirty.dusty with dry roasted stale malt notes, dark chocolate and a peppery spicy note. The body is dark brown to black with a diminishing wispy tan head atop. The first sip is all pure black coffee followed by chocolate, cream bittersweet roasted malt and some more of the spicy pepper notes. Different and interesting.

Jul 14, 2008 600ml Bottle. Poured deep brown, almost black in color with a small tan head. Aroma of mocha, roasted coffee, and fairly sweet. Tastes of roasted coffee, mocha and vanilla with a slightly bitter and dry finish. Pretty straight forward.
