Medium body with mild carbonation. Flavor is definitely designer coffee. Espresso? Why not. Finishes lightly sweet, slightly milky and very coffee. Quite enticing. Very smooth. | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 16/20 | Jul 28, 2009 Late June/Early July 2008: Nørrebro La Granja pours dark brown and has a foamy tan head. The roasty aroma contains dark chocolate, sweet licorice, and some light coffee. It tastes rich and sweet with flavors of semi-sweet chocolate, rasin, prune, hints of meaty smoke, smoe char, and a smokey coffee finish. It is sticky and has a medium-full body. Overall this is a very interesting beer that is quite good.

| 3.6 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 5/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 14/20 | Jul 16, 2009 Bottle. Pours the way a stout should! Pitch black with a pock-marked tan head of foam, like a root beer float. The aroma’s pretty harsh, like a strong raisin wine even. It drinks a tad bit mellower, but still carries a strong character of dark fruit, oats, and wet mash. If this had a little more body to it, it would be a better overall package. Good dessert. | 4.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 9/10 | 5/5 | 17/20 | Jul 13, 2009 Pours an opaque black with ruby edges and a minimal head. The nose is an appetizing boque of roasted malts, oatmeal, milk chocolate, and rich caramel. The flavour is an onslaught of milky chocolate, medium blend coffee, oatmeal, mellow anise and perfectly roasted malts. The hop flavour is mildly citric and slightly piney. Just a perfect sweet stout, with an appreciable fullness and creaminess that aids the drinkability. I could even session this, though at 7.5%, it’ll do some damage. YES!
