Commercial Description:
This sweet stout has been added cold water extract from a Mexican ecological single estate coffee. The result is a discrete coffee aroma that mixes with the slightly burnt licorice aromas from the dark malts combined with spices. The flavor is slightly sweet with an average palate and moderate bitterness and aftertaste.

600ml bottle. Poured a black color with brown edges and a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of roast, some coffee, chocolate, and some molasses. Tastes of molasses, light coffee, vanilla, roast, and chocolate. Definitely on the sweet side. Body on the thinner side.

Bottled. Black colour, mediumsized brown bubbly head, which turns into a small steady head above the beautiful liquid. Strong coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla and some syrup in the nose. Flavour is strong dark coffee, some smoked wet wood and roasted malts. The finish gets quite roasted malty, coffeeish as well as some minor notes of dark dry fruits.

Bottle pours black with no head or lace. Very little found in the way of visible carbonation until I agitate it in my tulip. The aroma is coffee liquor, vanilla, anise, dark chocolate, pancakes, maple syrup, and molasses. The flavor is very nice. I find a pancake, syrup, and coffee breakfast. I totally find flavors of brutal Cuban coffee served at Versailles in Miami – lots of sugar and roasted, toasted, sweetness. Oh yeah, this is hitting me so good. Damn, I love this. Look, this is an after dinner beer. This is dessert. This is like a chocolate pie served with espresso. So good, so good.

500ml bottle. This one was a surprise. Coffee on the nose for sure but it’s done quite well. Roasted malt. A hint of liquorice. Cinnamon sugar dusted oatmeal. Toasted vanilla bean. Pours cola like dark brown. A khaki head quickly fades into nothingness leaving a curiously still looking liquid. Dark and slightly bitter chocolate, cold press, roasted (but not charred) malt. The coffee is used quite well in this one. Accents the beer rather than being the central focus. Light but spritzy carbonation. Lightly silky on the tongue. Nice mouthfeel for sure. Finishes with a moderately roasty bitterness. Nice stuff!

600ml Bottle: Aroma of roasting, malts, chocolate, herbs, and coffee. Poured black in color with a medium-sized, rocky brown head that diminished slowly. Opaque. Flavor is medium sweet and lightly bitter. Tastes of dark malts, roasting, chocolate, coffee, burnt licorice, and a bit of smoke. Medium body. Chalky texture. Soft carbonation. Sweet, malty ,chalky finish. I was expecting better.

(Bottled) Very dark brown color with a smallish, quickly and completely vanishing, beige head. Roasty-ashy-malty aroma with coffee, cocoa, hints of licorice, and lactic sweetness. Roasty and very lactic-sweet flavor with some hop bitterness, and smooth licorice. No alcohol presence at all. Silky-smooth, medium to full-bodied palate with low carbonation. This is a very smooth and excellently balanced stout, almost like the A.Le Coq Jõuluporter I used to love when it was sold here in Finland. Now, only one question remains: is it too smooth and safe to be interesting? In either case, I must give the brewery credit for its excellent balance and drinkability.
