Commercial Description:
This sweet stout has been added cold water extract from a Mexican ecological single estate coffee. The result is a discrete coffee aroma that mixes with the slightly burnt licorice aromas from the dark malts combined with spices. The flavor is slightly sweet with an average palate and moderate bitterness and aftertaste.

At the brewery. Pours pitch black with a brown head. Aroma of cold coffee which may sound bad, but is really great. The flavour is quite bitter, but it is a soft ’coffee bitterness’ that is balanced superbly by a light sweetness. Palate is creamy, slightly oily with a soft carbonation. Long coffee aftertaste that almost puts you on the rich sloaps of a Mexican volcano. This is extremely drinkable. Persuaded a couple of ’not beer nerdy’ friends of mine (I have them, who said I don’t!) to try it, and they loved it too.

Draft at Danske Øldage 200506. Black colour, with a creamy brown foam. Aroma of coffee, and dark chocolate. Sweetnes of dark chocolate and coffee beens. Long finish with a taste of Alcohol and salty lakris and bitternes from the hops. Full body.

Tap @ the brewpub. Almost black with thick brownish head. Smells of coffee, and the taste reflects this. It is faintly perfumed, but the coffee overshadows this minor complaint. Some cardemum adds to the feel which is actually quite round and soft and not coffee-bitter at all. A bit too much sweetness perhaps.

Bottle from the brewpub. Pours a nice, light brown head, which dies out a bit too fast. Colour is pitch black. Aroma: Cold coffee, lightly roasted. Coffee is a keyword for this great stout! Flavor is sweet, with a soft bitterness from the coffee. The body is full, texture very oily, creamy, carbonation is soft. The finish is long, sweet, and with a soft bitterness.

On tap at the Brewpub: Opaque black, small head, leaving laces. wonderful intense smoked and chocolate nose. Very intense smooth chocolate taste with some nutty traces and a very light smoked note. Well balanced - beautiful brew!

Beautiful roasted malt nose with hints of charcoal. Black color, sticky beige head. Coffee-like tastes up front, deep roasted end like espresso. Not so bitter though. Medium body. Kinda one-dimensional, but enjoyable nonetheless.

Draught Brown-black; head has gone. Real coffee nose, and a touch of rosewater essence. Sweet coffee taste, lots of restsugars, licorice-like zoete drop . Not very strong tasting of MF; the sweetness completely hides the alcohol. Surprising sweet stout that hides its cards.
