bottled, at the prague xmas beer markets, ’08. deep black with a minimal tan head, no surprises that there is a big coffee aroma with hints of vanilla and nutmeg, some light lactic sourness, viscous texture, mild burnt bitterness, tasty stuff

Oct 24, 2009 bottle. black under a small, stable, creamy brown head. espresso, coffee with cream aroma. a medium bodied stout with a mild-moderate carbonation. not too sweet really. flavors of milk chocolate and some bitter coffee. not really picking up the spices or licorice. creamier and more flavorful as it warms.

Oct 2, 2009 Bottle. Kinda tastes like chocolate milk. Very tasty. Opaque brown/black pour. Smell is like an espresso roast...but not overpowering, unfortunately. Taste isn’t as coffee-ish as I had hoped. Definite roasty flavor and smooth texture. Not bad overall.

On opening the bottle, I spill some. My fingers become quite sticky, and the lable says dessert beer, so my expectations are towards a very sweet beer. But it is not really.
Very dark brown with high creamy head. Mostly coffee on the nose, but also other roasted aromas.
Quite sweet, but the coffee bitternesss balances it. No alcohol can be detected.
Very fine beer for a #200 rating. In my book it could be used for dessert, but I happily sipped it with football (DK-POR).
Oh, and it is the "national" beer day, and this was a fine celebration.

Sep 5, 2009 Dark brown with a tan head. Big coffee/mocha aromas. Medium body. Mildly astringent coffee flavor with milk chocolate. A little on the thin side.

Aug 25, 2009 This bottled brew from a bottle shop poured a small sized head of foamy finely sized brown colored bubbles that were quickly diminishing and left behind a opaque dark ruby red brown colored body and a oily lacing. The mild aroma was brown malt and burnt malt. The mildly vinous mouth feel was tingly at the start and at the finish with a lingering vinous aftertaste. The flavor contained notes of roasted malt mildly vinous dark malt and brown malt. A decent one that I would consider buying again.

Aug 22, 2009 Mondial 2009, Montreal. Almost black with a medium brown head. It smells dry, somehow. Not dusty. Dry. Black coffee, cocoa powder, and roast in there, too. Lots of coffee in the flavour, along with anise and roast. Some caramel sweetness. Good stout.

Aug 19, 2009 Pitch black pour with almost no head. Aroma of coffee beans and roasted malt. Flavor of coffee beans, roasted malt and some dryness. The body has a light to medium thickness with moderate carbonation.

Aug 17, 2009 This dark brown beer poured with no head and a strong coffee aroma. The flavor is all coffee with some carbonation and a bit of spice.
