The aroma is filled with notes of coffee, roasted stoutiness, and sweetness. But the aroma is too faint because of the lacking head. The flavor is fantastic; sweet chocolate, coffee, and roasted malts. The roasted malts gives it a good bitterness. And it also has a good palate. If I had to complain about anything - and I don't have to - it would be, that it lacks a little rolling over the tongue - all the flavor is on Your palate and in Your cheeks. | 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Oct 18, 2005 (On tap) Pitch black and opaque with a small, light brown head. Malty, lightly burned aroma. Flavour is malty and burned, but not overwhelmingly bitter - there’s a marked, underlying sweetness. Notes of coffee - distinct notes. Very soft and accessible stout. 041005 yespr (12338), Copenhagen O, Denmark

Near black. Rich aroma of licorice, dark chocolate and peppery alcohol. Sweet and malty with rounded mouthfeel. Loads of bitterish coffee in the finish. Very flavourful, interesting, and also quite well balanced. Really enjoyable! fonefan (11818), VestJylland, Denmark

| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 12/20 | Feb 6, 2005 Draught. Coffee aroma. Quite sweet, very clear fresh ground coffee flavour. Nice bitter coffee-like finish. Too sweet for a stout IMHO, but I love the coffeeness. oh6gdx (9001), Vasa, Finland
| 4.4 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 9/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 5/5 | 18/20 | Feb 26, 2008 Bottled. Black colour, mediumsized brown bubbly head, which turns into a small steady head above the beautiful liquid. Strong coffee, dark chocolate, vanilla and some syrup in the nose. Flavour is strong dark coffee, some smoked wet wood and roasted malts. The finish gets quite roasted malty, coffeeish as well as some minor notes of dark dry fruits. joergen (8623), Frederiksberg, Denmark
