Commercial Description:
This sweet stout has been added cold water extract from a Mexican ecological single estate coffee. The result is a discrete coffee aroma that mixes with the slightly burnt licorice aromas from the dark malts combined with spices. The flavor is slightly sweet with an average palate and moderate bitterness and aftertaste.

Simpelthen fantastisk.

Darkness has fallen and a crescent moon has risen yet recedes quickly as if a vampire against the dawn. Very focused aromas of strict espresso to the point of chili pepper w/ a touch of sweetness. Its like baked coffee cake. Nice! Medium nectar w/ good carbonation producing a cotton soft texture. Flavors....wow, this is sublime. Refined layers of espresso, mocha, and creamed coffee bean w/ just a mild sweetness factor. The play between the nose and the flavor kills me. The play between airtime and talk time absorb my attention. This is awsome. It goes from espresso essence on the nose to frappacino on the palate in a split second. This beer is not extreme. It’s classic. The segue between aroma and palate is profound. Think back to any other beer that had this dimension and defined contrast. This is a complex beer and worthy of a better score. The price is high and someone might score it lower because of this alone but for the purity of the fine specimen, it’s one of the most complex beers I’ve ever had. Rich yet elegant. Highly recommended.

Rich, smoky aroma is strong and has undertones of molasses and unsweetened chocolate as well as a hint of coffee. It pours an opaque sable just a whisker from jet black, and the head is thick and pale tan though not too persistent. Flavor is quite mouth-filling and has elements of fine coffee, unsweetened chocolate, molasses and a teeny bit of caramel. It is a little sweet but not cloying. Texture is smooth and tingly, leaving a smoky, slightly sweet, lip-smacking finish.

Draft at Danske Øldage 200506. Black colour, with a creamy brown foam. Aroma of coffee, and dark chocolate. Sweetnes of dark chocolate and coffee beens. Long finish with a taste of Alcohol and salty lakris and bitternes from the hops. Full body.

Really beautyful dark brown to black colour with a great head. The aroma is strong and slightly sweet of roasted La Granja coffee-beans, caramel and sweet malt. Really delicious, round and mild start. Strong coffee flavour and a delicious finish. Aftertaste of caramel and sweet coffee.Really good!

Bottle. Pours with a beige head of uneven colours ranging from dark brown to light beige, thick with very small bubbled. The body is as black as it gets. This beer has a fantastic palate, and is very foamy and creamy. The aroma is of coffee, more freshly ground beans than actually brewed coffee. I ground every weekend so I should know :) Also, some sweet milk chocolate is in there. Initially, the taste is sweet, milk coffee and cacao. Later, it turns into more bitter flavours, like ground cocoa beans! The bitterness continues to change a long time after swallowing, and the aftertaste is that of very bitter chocolate. An immensily complex beer, perfect in every way. Almost.

Draft at brewpub. Pitch black with almost no head at all. Coffee aroma is not only right in your face but gigantic and flavorful. Chocolate malts are as big and flavorful in a stout thats out there and I think thats a lot. I think it’s their best beer by far.

On tap at the brewpub. Deep black in color with no head. Roasty coffee like aroma. Caramel notes. Big malty chocolate flavor. Smooth and creamy tasting. Finish is malty. Well balanced. Full bodied. Really nice. Drinkable.
