Bottle. Ap: Black, long lasting brown head. Ar: Barrel aged vinous sweetness of vanilla. Some smoke. Chocolate. Fla: Dark chocolate. Cacao. Small cigar smokeiness. Vinous. Cranberry. Vanilla. Pal: Thick and creamy mouthfeel. Ov: Very complex and well balanced beer.

Dec 25, 2009 Bottled (thanks brunnsbe!). Black colour, small brown head. Aroma is mild wine, some coffee as well as some slight alcoholic notes. Rather wooden as well. Flavour is quite much the same with very big time coffee and vanilla towards the finish and aftertaste. A bit sweet, otherwise a really nicely balanced barrel aged brew.

Dec 20, 2009 It’s pitch black with a small, creamy, dark brown head, and it looks like oil when I pour it into my glass, and the mouthfeel confirms it. The aroma has notes of wood, vanilla, roasted malt, licorice and red wine. The flavor has a light sweetness and a roasted bitterness and notes of licorice, red wine in a nicely balanced way, loads of oak and vanilla, that continues in the long aftertaste and ends in a slightly bitter finish. Very nice indeed!

Nov 15, 2009 375 ml bottle, kindly shared by my beer pal Olav, who bought it at Nørrebro Bryghus. Pitch black colour, low brown head. Aroma of acidic fruits and red wine, also notes of dark chocolate and mild coffee. Intense flavour of strong coffee and oak, also notes of dark bitterchocolate, hints of red wine. Bitter hops in the finish.

Nov 15, 2009 Bottle from Olbutikken. Black and opague. Vinous aroma with grapes, ash, chocolate. Full bodied. Complex yet alcoholic flavor. Vinous notes, ash, roast, grapes, dark chocolate, tobacco. Even some tartness from black berries. Layers of flavors come up and fade away slowly. Long alcoholic aftertaste. Great beer!

Thanks to NoLiberty for cracking this open via Shaun E. Hill...
Appears a dark midnight with a fluffy brown cap that sticks around. Streaks of lacing are left around the glass.
Smell is of red wine character, wood, cocoa, grappa, coffee, and dark chocolate.
Taste is of the mentioned aromas with huge red wine flavors, & dark chocolate melding as a gigantic marriage of faith and harmony. Absolutely beautiful.
Mouthfeel is medium-full bodied, with sweet vanilla that lingers with oaky tannins hanging along the palate.

Nov 10, 2009 Bottle via Alex (thanks!). Poured a deep and dark brown color with a smaller sized off white head. Aromas of roastiness, vinous, chocolate, woodiness, and caramel. Tastes of roast, vinous, chocolate, vanilla, woody, caramel, and had a bitter coffee finish.

Nov 9, 2009 Opaque black with a tan head and nice lacing on the glass. Aroma of roasted malts, dark chocolate, smoke, strong bordeaux, oak, nuts, and alcohol. Taste of roasted malts, smoke, burnt wood, dark chocolate, winey notes, and some alcohol in the finish. Thanks Shaun and Alex!

Nov 8, 2009 Pours a deep brown almost black with a medium creamy tan head that left some lacing. Aroma of milk chocolate, roasted malt, caramel, mixed nuts, oak and oats. Flavor of roasted malt, caramel, decent hop bitterness, oak, vanilla, nuts, dark chocolate and coffee.
