Very light lacing if you swirl the beer in the glass. Has a dusty roasted malt aroma. Flavor is roasted and caramel malt, light esters, and a touch of chocolate. Leaves a slight lingering dryness to the palate. A decent beer. Thanks Bill. Rogueone (506), I F&ckin’ hate those guys from, Ohio, USA
| 2.9 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 6/10 | 2/5 | 11/20 | May 27, 2008 Bottle: Not what I expected from a dry Irish Stout. Pours a dark brown-black with minimal highlights, frothy and bubbly small head. Medium-bodied, rich chocolate malt flavor with burnt sugars throughout. Also a bit of a smoked character is present here, which sort of ruined it for me. It was sort of like sweet, watery meat with raisin syrup or something odd like that. kidmartinek (1001), austin, Texas, USA
| 2.7 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 5/10 | 2/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 13/20 | Mar 21, 2008 Dark brown almost black with a plum tint. Light syrupy appearance. Weak lacing. Aroma is like bitter sweet malt and bacon. Tastes like darker roasted malts with lighter malt mixed in, and wooden overtones. Fizzy mouth and runny texture. pintsize (1042), Austin, Texas, USA

Appearance is very nice - balck with almost white long lasting head and beautiful perfect sticky lacing. Smell is malty roasted nuts slightly - but overall is fairly weak. Mouthfeel is not good - thin and watery and ruins the nice flavor. lb4lb (2011), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 8, 2008 Pours black with a lasting tan head and seems to be on nitro. Smell is dusty roasted chocolate like malt with mild hints of metal. Creamy soft roasty chocolat flavor. Slightly thin bodied but with a decent flavor. Similar to a Guinness, but with more flavor. Decent beer, and drinkable. churchill00 (154), Austin, Texas, USA
| 3.2 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Mar 7, 2007 Much lighter than a stout from well known breweries, say... Young’s, Great Divide, or Sam Smith. Initially a detectable amout of chocolate. Surprising that the body is so light for an ale that looks so dark and robust. Walt (2289), Chicago, Illinois, USA
| 3 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 8/10 | 3/5 | 5/10 | 2/5 | 12/20 | Apr 2, 2006 Pour is dark dark brown with blackish hints with a tight bubbled and thin but lasting brown head...I didn’t get a ton of coffee out of the nose, just an delicious toastyness...maybe some faint hints of cocoa...watery and thin disappointing mouthfeel...flavor was a little too subtle than I think it should be...very light tosaty flavor with hints of bitter coffee in the finish...good though... | 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 4/5 | 15/20 | Apr 3, 2005 Tap. Opaque black, very strong roasted coffee throughout. It’s hard to believe that I could drink beers like this all day but actual coffee is repulsive to me. Little bit of chocolate in it as well, this is clearly the best NxNW beer I’ve had. Thick mouthfeel, best beer in the house.
