Black pour with a ring of cream froth. Nose is vanilla, bourbon and coffee in the background. Quite nice on the palate with a smooth vanilla and a very nice coffee aftertaste.

On tap at the brewpub. The look is dark, deep black color, decent tan head. The smell is roasty, coffee, chocolate, more roast, dark dried fruits. The taste is very much like hot chocolate, coffee, roasted malts, and alcohol.

On tap at the brewpub. Black in color with an average sized beige head. Aroma is of hot chocolate, dark chocolate, bourbon and rum. Taste is of coffee (light roast), lots and lots of chocolate, roasted malts and bourbon.

On tap. Snifter. Black with no head. Nose is bourbony, sweet, and a bit alcoholic. Taste comes off sweet, whiskey notes, roasty, earthy, and chocolates. A bit thinner than I would like but overall a decent offering from a solid brewpub.

On tap. Pours black with a lasting creamy light tan head. Smell is lightly of coffee and roasty malt and some milk as well. Mild nose, overall though. Taste is better and more full. Nicely balanced between roasted dark malt, coffee, and subtle bourbon with none of the components overpowering the other. Pretty solid overall, and I wish this were a regular offering here.
