North By Northwest Bavarian Hefeweizen

Had on tap at the brewpub with Cavie. The best beer I had there except the whiskey barrel beer. Nice banana bubblegum and phenols.

On tap at the brewpub. Pale yellow and cloudy with a small white head. Aroma is of clove and citrus. Taste is the same with banana as well.

Typical hefeweizen presentation. Taste is banana heavy. Nice finish. What you would expect plus a little more.

Tap at brewpub.
Pours a cloudy yellow with an aroma of sweet bubblegum. Flavor is banana infused pilsner contained in a watery base. Watery mouthfeel. Too thin in body and in taste.

Straw colored hazy light head. Smells of banana, clove, wheat, and malts. Smells better than expected. Taste is a little weaker than the smell but about the same character. ok body.

(On tap at NXNW in Austin on July 20, 2008) Served with lemon. Tastes much like a German hefe… they seem to be following a good Bavarian recipe. Paulanerish, but not quite as good. Obviously. Lightly sour, very good actually. But then the lemon was already submerged so I have no idea what the flavor was pre-lemonization. Like Mexican beers requiring limes to taste decent... if you have to add something to it AFTER serving, most likely you’re making up for a lacking beer. Thin, but great taste and lively on the tongue. I thought it’d be a good chick beer, but in my weeAnaP’s opinion... well, apparently it backfires on chicks with good taste.

Draught. Cloudy yellow with no head. Lots of banana flavor without much else in the nose. Well balanced with spice, not particularly clove-heavy. Sharp palate finishes thin with banana aftertaste.
