Draft at restaurant. Poured very hazy and cloudy with major wheat suspended. Nice. Head dissappears a little to rapidly for me. Nose was malty, clovey, banana, typical for this style. Medium-bodied mouthfeel. Flavors of wheat, banana, yeast-well put together. Not a good as Live Oak but this one is hard to turn down. Good job.

Draught at the brewpub
Muddy blond color. Light aroma of red wine (?). Weak mouthfeel with a very light wheat character and some light banana flavor.

Draft - Ultra hazy gold, creamy thick white head. Great hefe nose with loads of banana, trident bubblegum, clove, and hints of lemony wheat. Flavor was more of the same with up front banana, clove and wheat. Nothing more to add here. Medium bodied, soft carbonation, wheaty, soft nutty, spiced finish. Great example of the style. Gives the Live Oak Hefe a run for it’s money...

Tap. Nose-smells exactly like that I used to smell when I built model airplanes-plastic and solvent. Usual hefe appearance-hazy and yellow. I suppose if I liked hefeweisens, I would like this, but I don’t. It is overwhelmed with the bastard German yeast throwing off way too many fusels-all banana, clove, bubblegum. Tastes too much like artificial banana flavoring with some apple, some butterscotch. I believe bananas are for sundaes, not beer.

Pour is bright hazed cloudy yellow with no head...smell is banana and clove...taste is lemon, banana, clove...not bad, but the signature grain taste is back in this one...generic...

Sweet semi cloudy almost yellow-golden colour, Smells very much like coconut... No real head on this one, no real lacing either, Nice after taste though...

On draught. Ty said that this beer will no longer be a seasonal as it will replace the bock on the regular menu. Not a bad idea since the Central Texas summer lasts 8 months!! Straw color and a nice cloudy yeastiness with a small head. The aroma is a nice clean citrus smell. The flavor is citrusy as well, some wheat, a light bitterness and a slight sweetness. The yeast doesn’t have the banana and clove of some hefes but it is very drinkable and tasty on a 96 degree day in Austin. Good beer!
