MicroGrog (36), New York, USA Jul 1, 2009 Growler brought to RnH’s charity thing. Made me get up before Sunday...
Poured into a baby snifter. Second half taken back home & finished off in a Ommegang flute.
Washed out pale straw/cream soda color. Slight haze, wisp of head, & speckled lace.
Smells a lot like a perry, but has a crisper Granny Smith edge. Noticeable caramel & a little Euro stuffiness as it spreads out.
Taste is white grapes, lots of apple skin, & a little cotton candy. Yeasty & bready on the finish. Carbonation was just a bit prickly, struggling a little to hold the body up.
Much better then I was expecting. Different is always good. Thanks Natalie. :)
malrubius (969), Valley Stream, New York, USA Jun 2, 2009 Growler at RnH Drink for Charity. Thanks to everyone who brought great beer to this. Pure yellow. Aroma a little pissy. Nice tart apple flavor. Very refreshing. Ok, I was drunk already, but I remember liking this. JoeMcPhee (4893), Jackson Heights, New York, USA May 29, 2009 Growler shared by someone at "Drink for Charity" event at Rattle N Hum. Pale yellow/straw colour with a lot of haziness. Soft sweet apple with a noticible yeasty/bready component that is quite unusual in a cider. Sweet fruity notes with a lot of fresh apple and malic apple skin tartness. There isn’t a whole lot of tannic character but it’s fairly dry on the back. Nice simple cider. There is a bit of cinnamon. j12601 (1149), Poughkeepsie, New York, USA May 12, 2009 Gorgeous looking NxNW growler at the “Drink for Charity” event at Rattle & Hum. Pours a hazy almost clear yellow with a thin white head. Green apple, vanilla, and caramel on the nose. Flavor is a little gummy with some more apple. Finishes with almost a touch of lager graininess, but mostly dry and yeasty. Rciesla (3500), Exit 15W, New Jersey, USA May 10, 2009 Growler. Pours a pale yellow apple juice body with a thin lacing. Apple juice, pit an skins of apples, citrus and cinnamon spice with a hint of wine. Nice cider. GodOfThunder (855), Orlando, Florida, USA Jan 2, 2009 On draft at the brewhouse. This was on tap in place of their usual sour offerings. Light white wine color with a good amount of carbonation. Aromas of apples and butterscotch. Flavor is light with fresh golden apples and very little alcohol flavor. A very good, and light, cider. Possibly my favorite taste of my trip to the brewpub.
