Commercial Description:
Guldenbiere is a Golden Ale similar to the artisanal ales of Belgium. It is lightly spiced with coriander, ginger, and kaffir lime. TIGHT FITTING LONG-TERM CORKS WERE USED; A STRONG CORKSCREW IS RECOMMENDED

Bottle shared by mentor, thanks man. Poured a clear golden color with a thin white head that diminished to a ring. Vegetal arome (boiled cabbage) and some pilsner malt, not much else present. Flavor is consistent with the aroma, with some vegetal flavors and a light moderate sweetness with a light citrus and a bit of yeastiness on the finish. Light on the palate with decent carbonation. Belgian strong ale?

2007. Leftover GABF bottling. Very clear golden yellow color with a small, thin head. Smells very pure and belgian, with exotic spicing of coriander and ginger, as well as some hints of sweet light fruits. Not perfect, it’s somewhat vegatal. Flavor has fairly nice balance with the spice and yeast character. Lots of coriander. It’s a fairly nice ale.

From a corked bottle, courtesy of Secret Santa 2007, pours a clear pale orange with a thick bubbly white head. Aroma is sweetly malty, a littel fruity, and a bit more malty. Taste is sweetly malty and sour all at once, kinda corny, spiced to be sure. You can taste a hint of lime, but if the commercial description didn’t point this out, I’m not sure I’d identify it as such. I’d certainly call it a farmhouse ale, and thus I feel like any decription I give will be insufficient. Try it, be prepared for it. Either way, thank you Santa, really glad I got to try this beer!

Big thanks to fly for this one. Pours turbid canary with a clingy 1-finger white head. Aroma is fruit, including tart peaches and apricot, some funky yeasty notes, spicy, floral, and mild candi sugar. The taste is candi sugary but not too sweet at first, giving way to some fruit, florals, and yeasty notes. There is a huge amount of yeasty sediment in this, giving it a very rich, complex, fruity and floral flavor that I enjoyed greatly. This brewer was one of my biggest surprises for 2007.

Pours a very cloudy yellow. Aroma is yeast, spices, and fruit. Flavor is lemon, spices, lime, pear, peaches, and some alcohol. Plenty of carbonation, with a light to medium body. Thanks to footbalm for this bottle.
