RBSG 2007. Hazy yellow color with no head. Good lord, this thing smells like a pina colada! Thankfully that fades in the flavor and is replaced by a pretty nice wheat body and a ton of strong spices (clove, coriander).

2005 Vintage

Date: 4/28/2007
Event: DarkLord Day 2007
Location: Evening tasting in jsquire’s room at the Hampton Inn in Munster, Indiana. Thanks for hosting Jeff!
Serving: Sampled from a 750 ml corked and caged bottle.

Tasting Notes
Aroma: Sweet, honey, lightly malty, earthy.
Appearance: Cloudy pale golden yellow with a white head that disappears quickly. Very active carbonation.
Flavor: Some pale malts, honey, and yeast. Slightly sweet with spicy finish. Overall the flavorers were delicate and well balanced.
Palate: Light and well carbonated, but it didn’t feel fizzy on the palate, just lively.
Overall: Nice light and refreshing flavor. I needed this after all the heavy stouts!

sampled at the Hampton tasting - Pours hazy golden with a big head and a yeast and citrus aroma. The flavor had that yeast and citrus again along with some mild spices. Medium bodied and lively, this is a nice brew.

This was some sort of drama getting this opened at the Hampton Tasting at DLD. Thanks to the extremely well-read "John" for opening the bottle with a swiss army knife under immense pressure from the rest of the room. Bottle courtesy of Walt. Honey and earthy aroma. Very light golden brown color with a massively crazy frothy head. This baby is seriously carbonated and lively. Medium palate. The taste was a nice mix of honey, grass, light spices, and some yeast. I really liked the light flavor for this style and thought this was well balanced.

Thanks to moejuck for the pour with this and for some john guy for popping it. Good work john guy. (It even says strong corkscrew recommended, that’s hilarioius) Pours a fizzy yellow with more of the white head then beer. Strange nose of citrus, hay, and must. Lightly tart citrus and lemon flavors. Dries out with some heat. Over carbonated but really refreshing.
