Very fruity and hoppy aroma. Clear golden coloured and extremely hoppy with a crisp and bitter slightly dry finish. jumpjet2k (136), Austin, Texas, USA Jun 17, 2009 Bottle. A nice gold/amber color with a big fluffy white head that sits around for a while. I notice there’s a whole ton of yeast at the bottom of the bottle... Haven’t made it that deep yet, though. Strong citrus hop aroma, along with what seems to be homebrew twang - a little grassy and plastic-like. Flavor begins with citrus but is quickly dominated by the same plastic/grass twang as in the aroma. A small but nice bitterness hangs on at the end. As I continue drinking, the twang becomes less evident and the malt starts to show through a bit more. Still, though, it’s only mediocre. SudsMcDuff (1691), was CapeTown,SA-now Houston, Texas, USA Jun 8, 2009 bought at NXNW on my recent Austin trip.. . Pours a medium gold copper .. . fantastic lacing, medium to large head .. . hey hey, is this the west coast, very nice hop presence!! .. . i am not a nugget!-rip owen hart .. . very smooth, light mouthfeel .. god, jada pinkett smith sure is an ugly bitch!! .. . wow, a very full session ipa that has a big IBU number .. . would do well if sold in stores.. . . if I was on death row and given one last meal I would ask for a fortune cookie. "Come on ’long prosperous life!’".. . the finish really could be tweaked though!... alexsdad06 (1056), Ohio, USA May 31, 2009 22 oz. bottle courtesy of lb4lb. Pours a hazy golden color with a medium sized white head with decent lacing. The aroma is heavy with citrus hops (orange, grapefruit), sweet caramel malt, light pine and peach mango notes. The flavor is only lightly citrus, but shows more pine or spruce than the nose might indicate. The caramel malt is there, but not a major part of the flavor. Finish is bitter. Medium bodied, soft and at times oily. Decent, not great. ericandersnavy (1039), crossroads, Texas, USA May 6, 2009 bottle thanks to mar. poured a cloudy yellow with a fading white head. aroma is pine needles, mango, and peach. flavor of pine and slight grass. light body and low carbonation. hopeye101 (39), Draughthouse, Texas, USA May 1, 2009 On cask last Monday. Pours a deep gold with 2 finger head. Aroma is an orangey citrusy, very powerful.
Taste. citrus, lemon, good sharp hop bite. Mouthfeel: kind of oily from the copious amounts of dry hoppiing.
An excellent beer. I had 3 of these and killed the cask. mar (1740), Rowlett, Texas, USA Apr 23, 2009 murky light gold pour with a thin rocky white head. nose is grapefruit hops and not much else. not bad on the palate with a very sweet grapefruit flavor.
