Commercial Description:
This rich, malty dark ale is reminiscent of the smooth ales produced by the Weltenberg Brewery in Northwestern Germany. The Pilsner, Caravienne, Munich, Chocolate, Black malts and Roasted Barley give this great dark ale a creamy, roasted malt flavor, which is perfectly balanced with Cascade hops.

pours a dark brown colour .. . ample lacing with a low head .. old chocolate and cooked corn husk .. . dusty, thin, wheres the beef? no soul in this .. . crazy am i??

Dark brown pour. Sweet aroma. Taste is roasted nuts with a gentle tingle. Nice.

On draft at the brewhouse. Pours an amber color with a slight woodiness in the nose combined with the roast and caramel scents. Flavor is roasted and slightly sweet with dark fruits. Light mouthfeel and watery.

On tap. Brown color, beige head, and clear. Smell is malty, toasty, and chocolate. Taste is a good deep malty roastiness. Good beer. Best of their regular beers.

Draught. Sweet fruity nose with light caramel, cherry, and raspberry. Deep ruby color with patches of a swirly white head. Alcohol present amongst caramel and aforementioned fruit flavors, light roastiness and chocolate. Very nice. Thin but assertive palate. Solid all around.
