Appropriately fizzy carbonation. Slight citrus notes up front fading to peppery/yeasty notes. A great beer for a Texas brewpub! ¾ (4999), Colorado, USA

Very small filmy white head, the body is murky grapefruit colored, with a soft, juicy appearance. Moderately tart, turning to more of a juicy citrus sour grapefruit nose. Semi-rough palate. Juice like flavor, with some cream, which makes it not pulpy or prickly, but milky smooth and silky. Soapy coriander and anise flavors, powdery even. A strange beer, but it tasted quite good. Aroma is lots of orange peel, some heavy mustiness, big yeast, and light pepper. Flavor is initially sweet then musty/dusty. Pretty good saison, especially given it was brewed in Texas! bu11zeye (5468), Frisco, Texas, USA

| 3.8 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 7/10 | 4/5 | 8/10 | 3/5 | 16/20 | Jun 12, 2006 A beer of distinction orm this Brewpub. So beautiful. Goldenrod. Hazy gold beer, billowy white head. Nose is intriguing. Quite complex for a beer of this style from a texas brewpub. Sugary sweetness at first. Seemingly too sweet. This fades into a dryness like chardonnay. Oaky smoothness and the typical dried orange peel and grain of paradise, grey spiciness. Fruitiness then abounds. Soft kiwi, strawberry even. Flavors begin too striaghtforward. Then, in ninja like fashion become subtle and complex in a heroic way. Dry white grapes, fig juice, citrus and chalky grain of paradise spice. Good beer. Spritzy and thick as beer gravy.MMMMMmmmmmm MrRomero (1934), Nolanville, Texas, USA

Poured cloudy butterscotch yellow with a small white head and light carbonation probably due to the growler. Aroma of light lemon and clove. Some lemon, apple, and a little funk in the taste. Good. | 3.5 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 4/5 | 7/10 | 3/5 | 15/20 | Jun 11, 2006 Growler from Walt. Nose-banana, orange citric zest. Body-hazy gold/orange body with a film of soft bubbles. Sharp CO2, orange, soft lotion, acid, cream, and a little on the sweet side, but not too much so. Nose has an odd sickly rotten fruit note that I don’t dig, but it is easy to get past. It is nice to try a saison that is slightly sweet and not way the hell over spiced. An excellent drinker.
