The perfect beer for those times when I can’t decide whether I want an IPA or a stout. A helluva deal for $5 bucks. Makes an interesting black and tan. icarus (54), The Colony, Texas, USA

Smells of roasted malts and hops. Dry roasted coffee flavor. Quite a bit of hoppiness for a stout. Good stout. Sven (229), Lancaster, California, USA
| 3.1 | Aroma | Appearance | Flavor | Palate | Overall | | 6/10 | 3/5 | 6/10 | 3/5 | 13/20 | Aug 8, 2004 Deep ruby-brown colour, quick disappearing tan head which leaves no residual lacing. Appears flat but becomes rather carbonated on the palate. Smells like homebrew, also has a tinge of a metallic smell. Rich roasted malts, chocolate, coffee, and mild hop flavor. Slight metallic aftertaste as well. Nice dry finish, well rounded beer. Marc (477), Yokosuka, Japan

Roasted maltyness boarders on a slight burnt taste, coffee, a little earthy bitterness, touches of dark chocolate and alcohol make appearances. Finishes with more roasted malt and toast. elnadeau (786), Laguna Niguel, California, USA
