12 oz. bottle via trade with IrishBoy - Pours a clear brown color with a two finger thick light tan head. Light lacing. Aroma is toasted malt. Flavor is lightly smoked roasted malt. Thin, dry palate. A decent beer. Thanks Richard.

Very dry, unenjoyable finish for a stout, in my opinion. I suppose it’s in the name...but not the type of stout I prefer, Give it a try if you like a lighter, smokey, coffee, and dry finish...but for me, I might as well just pick up the Rasputin

Mocha and espresso nose with touches of bakers cocoa. Very dry and clean on the palate. Slightly lactic on the palate, more reminiscent of a lacto stout. Lingering roasted and cocoa finish.

Bottle from Irishboy, Thanks Richard. Pours out a dark brown color with a thick tan head on it. Smell is coffee and chocolate with some malty and hoppy overtones. Taste is dry and similar to a porter. Pretty sweet, lots of coffee and chocolate come through on this one. Interesting beer, very smooth and worth seeking out if you can find it. Good stuff

(Bottle via trade with <A HREF=http://www.ratebeer.com/ViewUser.asp?UserID=3 target=blank>IrishBoy, thanks Richard!) Smooth, nice, somewhat porter-like...Pours dark cola brown with large light cocoa brown head. Aroma is mostly milk chocolate with some light coffee roast. Mouthfeel quite smooth, very lightly oily. Poor, spotty lacing. Flavor is mostly milk chocolatey with a touch of coffee roast, esp. in finish. Bitterness mostly in finish and aftertaste. Pretty good but smells and tastes more like a porter.

Sampled a 12 oz bottle and enjoyed it. It poured very nicely with a very dark brown appearance, nearly black. Drank very smoothly with a hint of roasted spices and chocolate. Worth a try.

Body is a black with ruby edges, no head. Aroma is very roasty , with some smoke, coffee and espresso. Taste is pretty coffee oriented, with a nice hop background, some caramel shows up also. Mouthfeel is about where it should be.
