Commercial Description:
Malted wheat and the choicest American barley are combined with a blend of noble hops to create this light, fruity, refreshing beer. Brewed in the style of the American beer renaissance, Blue Star is unfiltered, the yeast adding a complex note to the flavor profile. It's especially good with a slice of lemon!

Bottle. Cloudy blonde pour with a white head. Has a spicy citrus aroma. Flavor is sweet, wheaty and has a mild spicy hop finish. Not bad.

Pours a hazy gold... not much head. Does not look or smell like a wheat beer to me. Maybe I’m not as familiar with american wheat as I need to be. Aroma is of wet grains, and the flavor is moderately hopped watered down wheat beer. Not necessarily a bad beer, but just nothing special. Too watery with too little going on with it.

Surprisingly dark for an American wheat… urine gold and murky with roused bottle yeast. The thin dishwater head leaves no lace. Mild aromas of bread, caramel, and sour fruit. Diacetyl and tonic water flavors. Dry, neutral finish with no aftertaste, but a tingling aftereffect on the tongue. Watery mouthfeel, slightly greasy. The “appropriate-to-style” blandness has been taken to an extreme… I could see adding a lime wedge to introduce some character.

Bottle. Pours a hazy honey color with lots of floaters. One finger bubbly white head with spotty lacing. Nose is yeast, Belgian spices, lemon and wheat. Taste is lemon, coriander and sweet wheat with a slightly sour finish. Light to medium mouth feel. Refreshing brew.

Pours golden with unspectacular head. Smells of bread and some orange. Taste is nothing special. Some fruitiness but not a great wheat.

Spicy sweet citrus aromas with hints of grassy aromas. Pours cloudy orange with a dense white head. Bready, yeasty, with hints of citrus and honey. Very mild flavor.

Extreme underwhelming beer. Goes down smooth, but has little to no flavor. Is this a lite beer? Sure tastes like it...

A watery ale with a nice golden color and minimal carbonation/head. Not much going on here. Flavor is pleasant yet minimal. This is a disappointment coming from North Coast. Quite the anticlimactic experience. Very boring and little alcohol to boot. Drinkable, but that’s about it. Apparent logo/label ripoff of Newcastle (?).
