Commercial Description:
Malted wheat and the choicest American barley are combined with a blend of noble hops to create this light, fruity, refreshing beer. Brewed in the style of the American beer renaissance, Blue Star is unfiltered, the yeast adding a complex note to the flavor profile. It's especially good with a slice of lemon!

Yellow orange in color. Some white head. Some bready smells. A little fruit. Dry. Not bad.

$1.79 single at Total Wine & More in Kennesaw, Georgia. Appearance: Pours a cloudy, pale golden body with a fizzy, foamy white head. Smell: Gentle, understated aroma of toasted wheat, wildflowers, honey, and lemon wedges. Taste: Honey sweet and grainy with fruit flavors of peach and lemon. Leaves a sour yeasty aftertaste. Spiced bananas and some hints of dough before the light, citrusy finish. Mouthfeel: Medium-thin body. Medium carbonation. Drinkability: A likeable, even welcome wheat beer for the summer. Shine on, lil’ Blue Star, shine on!

Smells like a typical American Wheat but more striking. The nose is a big wheaty minty appealing. A touch of honey? Cloudy copper color with a firm head. Clean and refreshing, but not bland with a wheaty zestiness and a hint of citrus near the finish. Lingering mint and thyme spiciness. Very nice!

Bottle. Enjoyed this beer a lot! Aroma/flavor is excellent -- a vibrant citrus/honey flavor with subtle floral notes that do not overpower. Beer is fresh and drinkable, with a slight sour flavor which imparts a refreshing sense. Loses points for lack of an unfiltered appearance and for slight over-fizziness. In general, however, an excellent summer session beer.

Bottle. Straw color. Little head, but lots of carbonation. Light aroma with lemon, pine, and a little bannana. Highly carbonated plate akin to a club soda. Taste is so light the beer is again like a club soda with hust a hint of bitterness in the finish that can be confused with salt. Not enough true flavor. Dissapointing from such a respected brewer. There are many better choices for this style.

Very nice beer. It brags on the bottle how few ingredients are used and this makes a difference in taste. Very clean and refreshing.

Bottle. Coudy, light orange with small fizzy head and no lacing. Body is light and the carbonation is light and continuous. Nose is wheat and some hay. Taste is mostly wheat with some citrus. Mouth-feel is thin and watery, and the finish is too short to notice anything. Not much going on here.

Bottle. Small, white, fizzy head (fully dissapated). Murky light orange hue to body. Citrus, lemongrass, and yeast were all noticed in the aroma. Flavor is lightly sweet (not much to it). Not sure how I feel about this one. I guess I could understand why someone would enjoy this beer, but to me their are such better beers out there.
