Commercial Description:
Malted wheat and the choicest American barley are combined with a blend of noble hops to create this light, fruity, refreshing beer. Brewed in the style of the American beer renaissance, Blue Star is unfiltered, the yeast adding a complex note to the flavor profile. It's especially good with a slice of lemon!

A pretty bland and boring american wheat. Some mellow spiciness, with a wheaty cornflake taste. Lots of citrus and a watery bland mouthfeel, soggy.

Bottle (12oz). Poured cloudy gold with a small diminishing white head. Aroma is light woody malt with slightly sour grain overtones and hints of banana. Taste is pretty bland grain with a hint of sour off-dry white wine. Mouthfeel watery and flat - pretty disappointing from the makers of North Coast Old Stock Ale.

Draught at The Federal in Durham, NC. Hazy yellow-orange color with a thin white head. Yeasty with a hint of frosting in the nose. Some light ester flavor. Mild carbonation. Nice yeasty malt aftertase.

I’m a fan of wheat beers in general. This stuff is good because it’s got more bitter overtones than some hefe’s, and a more "basic" flavor. Nothing too complex or weird. Straightforward, but pretty solid. Not a fantastic beer, but good compared to a lot I’ve tried.

Light and fairly fruity, this was just never my favorite style. Nothing outrageous here, or particularly awful, but nothing to really hook you either.

Bottle. Pours a clear amber hue with an average white head that diminished slowly. Good balanced sweet aroma. Medium body. Average also well balanced flavor with a good finish. Good find in Florida.

12 oz. bottle. Cloudy gold with a nice, reasonably well sustained white head. Aromas of faint yeast and fruit. Tart, mildy acidic taste that feels a tad thin. Mild fruity esters and a finish of mild hop bitterness. Refreshing, not offensive, but not up to the level of the really good hefeweizens.
